Breakthrough in commodity export activities

PTO - In the context that Vietnam deeply and widely integrates into the regional and global economy, had facilitated enterprises inside the country as well as the province to access the new investment and production environment, improving domestic production capacity, encouraging export, especially strength industries and fields.

In 2019, import and export activities in the province prospered with good growth compared to the previous year. According to a report of the Department of Industry and Trade, the export turnover in 2019 is estimated at USD2,039 million, up by 45% over the previous year and reaching 136% compared to the plan. Some key products are textiles, garments, electronic components and plastic products. In which, electronic components reached  USD237.5 million, accounting for 25%; textile products reached USD344.3 million, accounting for 42%; plastic products reached USD196.8 million, accounting for 16.8%; tea of all kinds reached 18.5 million USD, etc.

The structure of export commodity groups continues to positively shifting towards increased of processed industrial goods' value  with high-tech content, mainly electronic components, textiles, etc.


Phu Tho is the fourth province in terms of area and the third in tea production in the country with a total area of 16.5 thousand hectares, including 15,000 ha of product tea area with an average yield of over 101 quintal/ ha. Fresh bud tea production is estimated at 154.7 thousand tons. The area of new varieties of tea and high quality tea is about 71.5% of the total area. Every year, about 8,000 tons of dry tea of all kinds for export, the rest for domestic market.

Together with domestic enterprises, the FDI enterprises also significantly contribute to the total export turnover of the province. In order to facilitate enterprises in goods export procedures, Customs Department of Phu Tho province has focused on administrative reform and modernization of customs procedures in order to support and accompany enterprises. In particular, it is noteworthy that the promotion of information technology application, effective implementation of the automatic electronic clearance system and the national one stop-shop mechanism, 4th level online public service, etc. have facilitate enterprises to implement administrative procedures on tax, customs.
