Doan Hung develops farm economy

PTO - In recent years, the farm economy of Doan Hung district has recorded positive development, contributing to improving the efficiency of land use as well as the value of agricultural products, creating jobs for rural laborers.

There are 47 farms of various types in Doan Hung district. In which, 9 farms applied high technology in animal husbandry, 5 farms made commitments on production under VietGAP safety process; 14/47 certified farms.

In order to support these farms, the district has developed and implemented programs and plans to produce local strengths trees and animals such as specialty pomelo trees, tea trees. At the same time, encouraging organizations, individuals and farms to promote linkages in production and consumption and mobilization of investment resources. The district's Department of Agriculture and Rural Development regularly studies and advises the District People's Committee to implement appropriate incentive mechanisms, promptly removing difficulties, creating favorable conditions for the development of farm economy.

In the past 3 years, over 400 households and cooperatives in the district have been supported for production, 3 farms have been supported to build livestock waste treatment works with the scale of 100m3 and the total support expenditure of over VND1.7 billion, attracting a number of enterprises to invest in developing the farm economy. Many farm owners no longer depend on the support of local governments. They gradually promote production development by exploiting the potential, advantages and natural conditions here.

In 2019, the total value of commodity output of farms in Doan Hung increased, estimated at VND81,385 billion; its profit reached VND20,286 billion; 155 employees got jobs. That contributed to promoting the transition of agricultural and rural economic structure in the direction of rapidly increasing the proportion of commodity production, creating concentrated production areas, safe products, mobilizing idle capital from people to invest in development of agricultural and forestry production.

In the coming time, Doan Hung will propose branches and levels to synchronously implement mechanisms and policies to support on land, preferential loans sourses, market information and vocational training; continuing to facilitate farms to develop production and meet farm criteria; step by step building branding products; enhancing inspection and monitoring of waste treatment in associated with environmental protection in animal husbandry to help the farm economy develop sustainably and efficiently.
