Palanquin procession ceremony to Hung King Temple

PTO - On the morning of April 12th (ie lunar March 8th), at Hung King Temple historical relic site, the surrounding communes, wards and towns of Hung King Temple hold the palanquin procession and offered incense to the ancestor.

There were 7 communes and towns holding the palanquin procession and incense offering ceremony to the Hung Kings this year, including: Chu Hoa, Hung Lo, Kim Duc, Van Phu, Hy Cuong (of Viet Tri city), Tien Kien , Hung Son (of Lam Thao district). Since the early morning, these localities simultaneously carried out the palanquin procession from their temples and communal houses to Hung King Temple.

The palanquin procession consisted of a lion dance team, a group of people keeping national and festival flags, a  team of drummers and gong players, a group holding sedan chair, palanquin, a priest and assistants, elderly people and many local people. The offerings included incenses, flowers, Chung cake, Giay cake and local products.

The palanquin procession to Hung King Temple during the Hung King's Death Anniversary - Hung King Temple Festival is a traditional ritual, maintained and preserved for thousand years by the surrounding communes of the relics, demonstrating the community and the typical cultural feature of the nation.
