2 heritages recognized as National Treasures and National Intangible Cultural Heritage

PTO - In the morning of January 31st (i.e lunar January 7th), a ceremony to received the Prime Minister's Decision on recognizing the Au Co Statue as a national treasure and Chu Hung temple festival as the National Intangible Cultural Heritage was held.

In Hien Luong commune, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hoang Cong Thuy attended the ceremony to received the Prime Minister's Decision on recognizing the Au Co Statue as a national treasure and to open the Mother Au Co temple festival – which marked the start of festive activities in Phu Tho in Spring.

At this festival, a ceremony to receive Decision No. 88 of the Prime Minister on recognizing the Au Co Statue (dating from the 19th century, currently worshiped in Mother Au Co Temple) as a national treasures.

Then, the female mandarin offering ceremony - a unique and indispensable rituals of Mother Au Co temple festival was held. After the rituals, a series of cultural and sports activities took place and attracted a large number of tourists and local people.

Also in this morning, Chu Hung temple festival in Am Thuong commune, Ha Hoa district was recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Chu Hung Temple Festival is associated with the process of formation and development of Chu Hung National Historic Site - the place to worship Imperial Prince Con Nhac who fighted against the invaders to protect Chu Hung  land and people during the 18th Hung King period - Hung Due King. In order to pay tribute to his merit, local people built a worship shrine. In particular, Chu Hung temple was also the area of War Zone 10 - a famous base in the resistance against French colonialists. With the meaning and historical value of the heritage, Chu Hung temple festival was listed in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism under the Decision No.4603.

Previously, in a solemn and respectful atmosphere, the Organizing Committee of the festival performed the ritual of offering incense, flowers and offerings.
