The “cap sac” ritual of Dao Tien ethnic people in Xuan Son commune, Tan Son district listed as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage

PTO - The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just issued decisions to add 11 heritages in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List. One of them is the “cap sac” ritual of Dao Tien ethnic people in Xuan Son commune, Tan Son district, Phu Tho province.

These intangible cultural heritages are divided into the four categories of traditional handicrafts, traditional festivals, social practices and beliefs, and folklore knowledge.

Previously, in mid-2019, the ceremony of the Dao people in Xuan Thuy commune, Yen Lap district was also decided by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List.

Under the provisions at Circular 04/2010/ TT-BVHTTDL, intangible cultural heritages to be added in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List must strictly follow criteria: Be represented, showing the identity of the community, locality; The reflection of cultural diversity and human creativity, is succeeded through the generations; Have the ability to recover and survive long; Be positive, voluntary community nominated and is committed to protect.
