Delegation of Phu Tho provincial leaders attends Vietnam Business Summit 2017 in Danang

PTO- On November 7th, on the occasion of APEC 2017 summit week in Da Nang, the Vietnam Business Summit in 2017 was held with the theme "Vietnam- a reliable business partner" ".


To attend the summit and give a welcome speech, there were Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc - Member of Politburo, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Victoria Kwakwa - World Bank's Vice President for the East Asia and Pacific Region; Mr. Philipp Rosler - World Economic Forum's Executive Director; Ambassadors, Heads of diplomatic agences and international organizations in Vietnam. The delegation of Phu Tho provincial leaders led by Mr. Bui Minh Chau - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.


In his welcome speech, the Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam was still trying to perfect itself to continue to be a "reliable and potential business partner" for the international business community and other countries. Vietnam had shown its dynamism through the active international integration and strong support for global trade freedoms. Vietnam has signed and joined in 12 Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and was negotiating four new FTAs, including 18 partners of APEC. The Vietnam’s achievements were an important source of motivation to be confident and firmly develop in the future.
The Prime Minister emphasized a number of major orientations such as focusing on improving institutional quality, legal policies, promoting the rule of law, encouraging private economy development, improving governance capacity; increasing investment in infrastructure; developing a start-up and creative economy through commitment to support and creating favorable conditions to build and realize start-up ideas; Implementing tax reform in the direction of increasing competition for the economy, towards OECD Standards.


Under the framework of the summit, the delegation of Phu Tho provincial leaders also attended important seminars such as Sustainable Agriculture; Finance for development; health and education; infrastructure; special economic zones and tourism potential; Start up and innovate.
