Phu Tho’s senior delegation pays a working visit to New Zealand

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hoang Dan Mac and his delegation visited the dairy farm providing raw materials for Fonterra Group.

PTO- From May 30th to June 9th, the Phu Tho’s senior delegation led by Mr. Hoang Dan Mac - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee cum Chairman of the Provincial People's Council paid a working visit to survey and promote cooperation with partners in Australia and New Zealand.
After working in Australia, on June 4th, in Wellington capital, the delegation paid a working visit to the Embassy of Vietnam in New Zealand. Welcoming the delegates were Ambassador Ta Van Thong and Counselors, Embassy staffs. On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Hoang Dan Mac sincerely thanked for the assistance and support of the Embassy, at the same time, he introduced briefly the general socio-economic situation of Phu Tho province, the advantages and difficulties along with the orientations in attracting foreign investment into the province. The Secretary hoped that the Embassy would continue to be the bridge to create favorable conditions and support the province in attracting investment projects in the province, especially in the fields of agricultural technology production of New Zealand, promoting cooperation in the education and training filed so that the universities of the two sides have chance to exchange and cooperate in the coming time.
Ambassador Ta Van Thong expressed his pleasure and appreciated the achievements of provincial socio-economic development in recent years. He informed briefly the Embassy's activities and the relationship between New Zealand and Vietnam, prospects for investment and trade cooperation. He confirmed that the Embassy would support Phu Tho to continue promoting cooperation with New Zealand partners in time to come.
Then, the delegation visited the farm to learn about the farm model which was managed and organized by cooperative economy in the dairy farm to provide for Fonterra Group - the largest dairy producer in New Zealand which had much business cooperation with Vietnam. Attending the program were representatives of the New Zealand Ministry for Primary Industries and the Embassy of Vietnam.
On behalf of the delegation, Secretary Hoang Dan Mac expressed his impression of management methods, dairy farming process, the supply of raw materials to processing factories, especially the application of science and technology to all stages of production. He affirmed that the link between farms with large production models was the experience to be studied and researched to apply in accordance with the general development trend and the Phu Tho province in particular.


On June 6th, the delegation visited the farm applying modern technology in Auckland to learn the process of planting, harvesting, sorting, packing and exporting of kiwi fruit. Besides exporting fresh kiwi fruit to the world market, many products are processed from kiwi fruit, such as cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, food, drinks ... to increase the value of agricultural production while attracting tourists. It is a good experience for Phu Tho province to develop agriculture associated with tourism for the typical agricultural products of the province in time to come. 
The working visit of Phu Tho’s senior delegation in New Zealand has been very successful. During the program, the delegation met with many partners, enterprises to continue creating opportunities to expand the economic, educational and agricultural cooperation of the province while contributing to the development of Vietnam - New Zealand relations in the coming time.
