Conference of the Provincial People's Committee reviews the situation and results of socio-economic development in the first 6 months

PTO - In the morning of June 15th, Mr. Bui Van Quang - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired a conference to review the situation and results of socio-economic development in the first 6 months and tasks for the last 6 months of 2020.

In the first 6 months of this year, due to the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic, the provincial People's Committee drastically directed and operated the agencies, departments and localities to actively implement many practical and effective measures to stabilize as well as promote business and production development, removing difficulties for enterprises and production facilities.


As a result, the economic growth rate of the province is estimated at 1.24%. Total provincial product (GRDP - current price) is estimated at VND 33,460 billion; export value of USD1,707 million, up by 110% compared to the same period; total social investment of VND12,202 billion, by 95.9% of the same period; total state budget revenue of VND3,520.9 billion, reaching 56.9% of the assigned by the provincial People's Council. The disbursement progress of public investment was improved, by the end of May 2020, total disbursement value reached 43% of the assigned capital, ranking 7th among cities and provinces nationwide in disbursement rate. The improvement of business investment environment is continued to be focused, ranking 26th nationwide and 3rd in the Northern mountainous area.


In the first 6 months of the year, there are 6 more communes recognized as the new style rural area, bringing the total number of these kind of communes to 112. The work of social security, health care is guaranteed; 90.1% of communes, wards, towns meets the national standards of health; the percentage of people with health insurance coverage is 91%; the percentage of trained and vocational workers reaches 68.2%. So far, the province has completed the statistics of labours, enterprises and households affected by the impacts of Covid-19 pandemic. The payment is expected to complete before June 20th, 2020.


Based on the achieved results, in the last 6 months of the year, the province will be determined to achieve at the highest level of the key socio-economic development targets by 2020, focusing on solutions to accelerate implementation of works and projects to soon put into operation for growth; supporting and encouraging business households; continuing administrative reform, improving business investment environment, enhancing provincial competitiveness; ensuring national defense and security, social security, etc.

Regarding the solution for the last 6 months, Chairman Quang emphasized: In the coming time, the socio-economic targets would not be adjusted in 2020, in order to strive to fulfill at the highest level of the planned targets.
