(en.baophutho.vn) - On September 24, the delegation of the Ministry of Education and Training and the Central Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs led by members of Party Central Committee: Mr. Nguyen Kim Son - Minister of Education and Training and Mr. Hau A Lenh - Minister, Chairman of Committee for Ethnic Minorities Affairs paid a working visit to Phu Tho province.
Mr. Bui Minh Chau - Member of Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Provincial NA Delegation; Mr. Bui Van Quang - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Hoang Cong Thuy - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee received and worked with the delegation.
Despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the provincial socio-economic situation in the first 8 months of 2021 still maintained a higher growth rate than the same period last year. Total social investment capital in 8 months was estimated at over VND21 trillion, equal to 62% of the plan, up by 9.9% compared to 2020. Teaching and learning activities has been maintained under a new normal conditions. Over the past years, the quality of provincial education has achieved many positive results, developing firmly on all three aspects: scale, quality and efficiency; deserving as the leading province in the Northern midland and mountainous region and the top of the country in terms of teaching quality.
The province currently has 953 preschool, general education and continuing education institutions with over 380 thousand students. Facilities are invested synchronously, ensuring the teaching and learning requirements of the people.
Regarding the ethnic affairs, the province has effectively implemented programs, projects and policies to support investment in socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, improving the ethnic people's life. So far, the procedures for reviewing and determining the capital needs for the period of 2021-2025 of 10 component projects under the national target program on socio-economic development in ethnic and mountainous areas.
At the working session, the delegation exchanged and answered a number of proposals and recommendations of Phu Tho related to education and training and ethnic affairs, including choosing Tan Son district as as an sample to implement the national target program on socio-economic development in ethnic and mountainous areas for 2021-2030.
Addressing at the meeting, two Ministers highly appreciated and congratulated the results in provincial socio-economic development in general and the education sector in particular, especially in the difficult context due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the work of education and training, the delegation suggested that Phu Tho continue to pay attention to the appropriate budget allocation for education; reviewing and well preparing the conditions of facilities and teachers to effectively implement the renovation of the general education program; investing in and supporting the development of the system of ethnic minority boarding and semi-boarding general schools; striving to complete 100% of the school solidification rate.
In the ethnic affairs, Phu Tho continues to coordinate with central ministries and branches to well implement the national target program on socio-economic development in ethnic and mountainous areas. It is necessary to soon develop specific plans and action programs for each year and period; assigning specific tasks to promote the advisory role of functional agencies; having plan to allocate counterpart funds accordingly.
Responding at the working session, Secretary Bui Minh Chau expressed the province's honor to welcome two Ministers and emphasized: With the participation of the whole political system, Phu Tho has been well impleting the of the COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control, being a safe "green zone" province on the disease map of the whole country. The province is determined to maintain stability, socio-economic development and improving people's living standards. He showed his expection to continue to receive the attention and support of the Ministry of Education and Training and the Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs to help the cause of provincial education and training and ethnic affairs further develop.
During the working program, the delegation visited and worked at Central Pre-University School for Ethnic Minorities and Hung Vuong Gifted High School in Viet Tri city.
