The Hung King's Death Anniversary solemnly held in Laos

PTO - On April 6th, the first-ever ceremony of Hung King's Death Anniversary was co-held in Laos by the Association for Liaison with Overseas Vietnamese, Embassy of Vietnam in Laos, the General Association, the Vietnamese Association in Vientiane, the Vietnamese Business Association in Laos.


Mr. Nguyen Phu Binh - Head of the Association for Liaison with Overseas Vietnamese shared: when the worship of Hung Kings was recognized by UNESCO in 2012 as Intangible cultural heritage of humanity, not only domestic compatriots, but also overseas Vietnamese are also very proud and happy. They contributed to bringing the worship of Hung Kings to the other countries, playing the most important role in promoting the worship of Hung Kings' historical and cultural values, in order to have a strong attachment to the community, the homeland and making a friendship bridge between Vietnam and the people of the host country.

The Project of the Vietnam Ancestral Global Day is carried out in many countries under the same program with the same rituals, aiming to create a special cultural event, connecting Vietnamese peoples across the world, in order to arousing the patriotism, solidarity in the overseas Vietnamese community. Activities in this project, especially Hung King's Death Anniversary, is an opportunity for generations of Vietnamese living far away from the Fatherland to know more about their origin and ancestors.

Activities within the framework of the project held on April 5 and 6 in Laos have contributed to promoting Vietnamese culture to abroad, educating the moral principles of "when drinking water, remember its source” and receiving the wide attention and support from overseas Vietnamese in Laos.
