Seminar "Building sustainable development of smart city government in associated with environmental protection and climate change response"

PTO - On the afternoon of December 20th, in Viet Tri City, Association of Cities of Vietnam (ACVN) held a seminar with the participation of 32 cities in the country.

Addressing at the seminar, Mr. Phan Trong Tan - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed: Phu Tho is positioned as the center of the Northern mountainous region, connecting the Northern midlands and mountainous to Hanoi capital and other Red River Delta provinces. Phu Tho plays an important role in industrial production and processing of agricultural and forestry products; with an aim to become the administrative, cultural, medical, educational, and logistic center of the region; in which, Viet Tri city is the economic, cultural and political center of the province. Recent years, Viet Tri has strongly mobilized resources to develop all fields, focusing on three breakthrough stages: investing in infrastructure; developing service and building smart and cultural city into a festival city, the origin of the Vietnamese people


Mr. Phan Trong Tan suggested other cities, experts, researchers, managers, policymakers, enterprises inside and outside the province help Viet Tri city to make detailed plans, complete the building of smart city government, connect to the national smart urban system under the Project "Vietnam Smart Urban Development for the period of 2018 - 2025 and orientation to 2030" has been approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 950 dated on August 1st, 2018.


At the seminar, representatives of cities in the country with experts, researchers, managers, policy makers, enterprises inside and outside the province shared visions, strategies and proposed specific solutions to a more comprehensive development in building smart cities based on new technology platforms, associated with environmental protection and climate change response, construction and development of a sustainable city.
