Supervising the implementation of the National Target Program in Yen Lap district

On March 28, the supervision team of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Council led by Mr. Bui Minh Chau - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, conducted supervision of the implementation of the national target programs in Yen Lap district.

During the 2021-2023 period, Yen Lap district has focused on directing and effectively implementing 3 national target programs including: Socio-economic development program for ethnic minority and mountainous areas; The National Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction and the National Target Program for New Rural Construction with total investment and non-business capital allocated of over 244 billion VND. Up to now, the disbursement rate of investment capital has reached 98%, while the non-business capital has only been disbursed 25%. By the end of 2023, the entire district had 5 communes meeting new rural standards.

Speaking at the conclusion of the supervision session, the Provincial Party Secretary Bui Minh Chau - Head of the supervision team acknowledged Yen Lap district’s efforts in implementing national target programs. In the coming time, he requested Yen Lap district to focus on reviewing and continuing to direct the effective implementation of national target programs, in which agencies and units managing the programs, projects and component projects must urgently develop detailed plans and determine specific timelines. It is necessary to ensure that the capital sources of all three programs work effectively, targeting beneficiaries who are ordinary people, raising their awareness and developing their livelihoods.

At the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary Bui Minh Chau also gave instructions related to the district’s proposal to implement the following projects: Building a road connecting communes in the upper Yen Lap district with Inter-regional traffic road connecting National Highway 32C and IC10 intersection of Noi Bai-Lao Cai Expressway; Adjust capital sources for projects under the national target programs for the 2022-2024 period.
