Special water puppet show
The water puppet play show is held from April 15-17 (lunar March 7-9) at the Water Pavilion Stage, Khuon Muoi Lake, Hung King Temple Historical Relic Area, to serve people at Hung King’s Death Anniversary and Hung King Temple Festival and Ancestral Land Culture-Tourism Week 2024.
Performing the “King Hung find a Son-in-Law” play
This year’s water puppet show has several artists doing professional water puppet acts. The “King Hung find a Son-in-Law” play inspired the highly choreographed performances. In a venue packed with traditional hues, the audience may follow the craftsmen' colorful narrative, from the struggle between Son Tinh and Thuy Tinh in the bridegroom selection contest to the furious battle to marry Princess Mi Nuong.
The water puppet performance is popular among locals and visitors alike.
With their amazing hands, artists have brought wooden puppets to life, combining them with traditional music to create highly vibrant figures. Create possibilities to promote and present the image of Phu Tho’s land and people to both local and international tourists. At the same time, it helps to preserve and promote the nation’s distinctive traditional cultural values.
Every year on the Ancestor’s Anniversary, water puppet performances take place on the water pavilion stage at Khuon Muoi Lake, which is part of the Hung Temple Historical Relic Area complex.
