On May 11, Football within the framework of the 10th National Phu Dong Health Festival - Region I continued to take place with the participation of host Phu Tho.

A successful day of competition for Phu Tho School Football

For secondary school ages, 5 teams compete in a round-robin tournament on the artificial turf field of Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted. Phu Tho Secondary School team entered the opening match against Ha Giang Secondary School with a confident and comfortable mentality. With the advantage as the host, Phu Tho pressed the field right after the opening whistle with many beautiful attack situations. In particular, child star Nguyen Duc Hieu’s double scores helped Phu Tho win a dramatic 3-2 victory over Ha Giang. This victory made Phu Tho Secondary School open the door to the Semi-finals.

Meanwhile, in the Primary School Boys’ Football event taking place at Hung Vuong High Quality High School, Phu Tho entered the final match of the qualifying round that was also a decisive match against a highly rated opponent Bac Giang, on the condition that they must win at least 1 point to ensure their place in the semi-finals. Therefore, the Phu Tho team entered the game cautiously with a slow and steady style of play in their home field. During 40 minutes of play, many opportunities were created by both teams but no goals were scored. The match ended with a final score of 0-0 and this result helped Phu Tho officially participate in the semi-finals.

Tomorrow, the Phu Tho Provincial Secondary School Football Team will enter the second match in the qualifying round against Bac Giang Secondary School at 8am. Meanwhile, at 4:00 p.m., Phu Tho High School Girls’ Football Team will also have their opening match against Lao Cai High School Girls.
