In an effort to complete the construction of the new Phong Chau Bridge—connecting Tam Nong District with Lam Thao District—as soon as possible for public use, Truong Son 9 Executive Board (under Truong Son Construction Corporation) is striving to overcome challenges and complete each project component in accordance with the directives of the Prime Minister.
After more than two months of construction, many project components have been completed. Specifically, the dismantling of the steel frame at span 5, as well as the demolition of two abutments and four piers of the old Phong Chau Bridge, has been finished.
Additionally, 74 bored piles for the new Phong Chau Bridge have been completed, including 44 of the most complex drilling points located at piers T4 and T5 in the riverbed.
The construction site of the new Phong Chau Bridge is located in Phung Nguyen Commune, Lam Thao District.
Relevant units have mobilized large-scale machinery to continue construction on the bridge piers as the river water level decreases.
Construction units are working urgently in a three-shift, four-team rotation to ensure the bridge’s completion by the end of this year. Recently, Army Corps 12 (Truong Son Construction Corporation) directed the Truong Son 9 Executive Board to launch an intensive “Swift and Decisive Victory” emulation campaign for the Phong Chau Bridge construction investment project in Phu Tho province. The campaign runs from March 1 to May 19, 2025.
According to the design, the new Phong Chau Bridge will be built using reinforced concrete beams and prestressed reinforced concrete. The bridge will have a total length of over 652 meters, with a main bridge length (excluding abutments) of approximately 383 meters. The starting point of the project is located on National Highway 32C in Phung Nguyen Commune, Lam Thao District, while the endpoint is in Van Xuan Commune, Tam Nong District. The bridge will have a width of 20.5 meters, accommodating four lanes for motor vehicles.
