Thanh Thuy district currently has more than 55,000 people of working age working in all economic sectors, accounting for 58%. In recent years, vocational training and job creation in the district have brought practical results, creating a change in people’s awareness of careers.

In order to introduce opportunities and create conditions for employees to find jobs, People’s Committee of Thanh Thuy District has developed a plan and directed professional agencies to organize a Job Exchange in 2023, which helps vocational education institutions in admission consultancy and businesses to have the opportunity to recruit employees according to their needs, employees to have the opportunity to find jobs suitable to their abilities... From the job exchange held at the end of May, many employees at Thanh Thuy District have found suitable jobs with stable income. At the same time, many secondary school and high school students are also advised on vocational training according to their needs, meeting the requirements of finding a job after graduation.

According to statistics from the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, 78% of the workforce in Thanh Thuy district is trained and vocationally trained; More than 32% of the total number of employees have degrees and certificates. In addition to organizing a job exchange, on average every year, Thanh Thuy district organizes about 4-5 vocational training classes for employees who want to learn a profession, each class has about 35 learners. Vocational training classes are innovated in quality and content to meet the needs of the labor market, with special attention paid to educating a sense of discipline, industrial behavior and training vocational skills for learners. Mr. Vu Kiem Toan - Deputy Head of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Thanh Thuy District said: The organization of a job exchange creates a bridge between businesses that need to recruit employees and employees who have the need of work.

After being trained, many people are introduced to recruitment at production facilities, factories, and tourist and service areas, effectively contributing to the process of restructuring the rural workforce. Up to now, the proportion of people learning non-agricultural professions to transform labor structure at Thanh Thuy is quite large, initially meeting the need for productive and quality workers in the tourism and service industries.

In the 2021-2025 period, Thanh Thuy district selects 16 primary training professions in communes so that learners have the opportunity to choose, suitable to their own abilities and needs such as: Electric welding; Industrial garment; Agricultural machine repair; Receptionist operations; Restaurant service; Cooking techniques; Shape and care for ornamental plants; Freshwater fish farming techniques; Raising fish in cages; Raising and disease prevention for chickens... By building a long-term vocational training roadmap for local employees, and proactively organizing job exchanges in many forms such as face-to-face, online, Thanh Thuy is trying to create jobs for many local employees, which contributes to sustainable poverty reduction at the district.
