Exciting Dinh Hoi Boat Racing Festival
The People’s Committee of Tuy Loc commune, Cam Khe district has just organized a Dinh Hoi Boat Racing Festival to celebrate the Party and the Year of Dragon.
Dinh Hoi Communal House is the place to worship the 17th Hung King, which still retains 10 ordinations. On the lunar January 8 every year, the Communal House’s main festival takes place. Along with the rituals of worshiping, collecting water, and processing the King... there is also a boat racing festival.
Participating in the 2024 Dinh Hoi boat racing festival, there are 3 boat racing teams from Quyet Tien, Tang Xa and Thuy Tram Villages in the commune. The total racing distance is 2.2km. Racing teams compete in a round-robin manner. The team with the shortest competition time will win the first prize. With the spirit of fair play, solidarity, honesty, exchange, and learning, talented rowers compete in front of the carefree and enthusiastic cheers of thousands of spectators, making fair races to leave a lot of deep impressions in the hearts of the audience.
Maintaining organization of the boat racing festival at the New Year beginning not only meets the entertainment needs of the people, but also preserves and develops the traditional cultural values of our ancestors. At the same time, Cam Khe district can also select the best athletes to participate in the boat racing festival within the frame of the 2024 Hung Kings’ Festival.
