Hung Hoa Town Builds a Civilized Urban Area

As the economic-political and cultural center of Tam Nong district, in recent years, the Party committee, local government, and residents of Hung Hoa Town have focused their resources on investing in modern infrastructure and enhancing cultural life, contributing to improving the living standards of the people, and creating a solid foundation for the town to evolve into a civilized urban area.

Hung Hoa Town currently has over 1,000 households with nearly 5,000 residents. To successfully build a civilized urban area, the local authorities have identified economic development as a key task. Along with effectively implementing administrative reforms, the town’s leadership has created favorable conditions in terms of mechanisms and policies to encourage households to establish economic models and attract investment. As a result, the economic structure of the locality has significantly transformed, with a rapid increase in the proportion of trade, service, and small-scale industrial sectors.

Currently, there are more than 700 small and medium-sized businesses in the area. Traditional industries such as woodworking, construction, and machinery have been maintained and developed, providing thousands of workers with regular employment. The employment rate among working-age residents in the town stands at 95%. The average income exceeds 50 million VND per person per year. The multidimensional poverty rate has been maintained at a level below 2% annually.

The rural transport system and electricity supply have been invested in, completed, and put into operation. Currently, 100% of households in Hung Hoa Town have regular access to electricity. All roads in the town have been paved with asphalt or concrete, and the streets feature sidewalks and street lighting. In addition, the local government has encouraged residents and organizations to participate in tree planting along the roads, fostering a greener environment.

The town has also coordinated with relevant agencies to organize various awareness campaigns focusing on urban beautification and environmental sanitation. Regular inspections and reminders are conducted to ensure that residents do not encroach on sidewalks or public spaces for business activities and to maintain traffic safety regulations.

As the urban landscape becomes increasingly attractive, the quality of life for the townsfolk has noticeably improved. All households have solid housing that complements the town’s overall appearance and meets cleanliness and aesthetic standards. The participation rate in health insurance among residents has reached 93%. Community cultural and sports centers are well-maintained, clean, and fully equipped, contributing to a vibrant social and cultural life in the locality.

In addition, the town has directed public awareness campaigns to each resident and household to diligently maintain environmental hygiene. The community has integrated various promotional activities with the movement “The Whole People Unite to Build Cultural Life in Residential Areas.” Initiatives such as “Green Sunday” gatherings and youth-led projects to protect urban landscapes—like colorful flower-decorated light poles and vibrant mural walls—have been organized to enhance the local environment.

After more than two years of concerted efforts, Hung Hoa Town has successfully achieved the status of “Civilized Urban Area.” Building on these accomplishments, Hung Hoa Town plans to continue strengthening the leadership and direction from the local Party committees, government authorities, and community organizations, from the town level down to the residential clusters.
