Impressive ASEAN Cup 2024 - Proud of Phu Tho

The 2024 ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup (ASEAN Cup 2024) ended with a convincing 3-2 victory by the Vietnamese team over reigning champions Thailand at Rajamangala Stadium on the evening of February 5.

On their journey to their third ASEAN Cup title, Coach Kim Sang Sik’s players set several new records, including being the first team to win the ASEAN Cup with an undefeated record. This included four impressive victories at home at Viet Tri Stadium, highlighted by a brilliant performance from striker Nguyen Xuan Son.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Provincial Party Secretary Bui Minh Chau, and other delegates attended the match and congratulated the Vietnamese team on their 2-1 victory over defending champions Thailand in the first leg of the ASEAN Cup 2024 Final at Viet Tri Stadium.

The ASEAN Cup 2024 was successfully organized by Phu Tho province in coordination with the Vietnam Football Federation across various sectors. In addition, ensuring security, order, and safety for delegates, foreign officials, and fans was a top priority for the local organizing committee. This effort helped affirm the prestige of organizing major sporting events and enhanced the image of the homeland in the eyes of audiences nationwide and international friends.

Striker Nguyen Xuan Son (No. 12) excelled at Viet Tri Stadium, scoring seven goals in just three matches for the Vietnam National Team.
