Modern commercial infrastructure

In recent years, the province has issued many mechanisms and policies to encourage investment in developing increasingly modern commercial infrastructure, creating conditions for all economic sectors to participate in business and meet the needs of the people in the locality and surrounding areas, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the province.

Modern commercial infrastructure

In the province, there are 4 commercial centers, 16 supermarkets, 53 Winmart+ stores widely distributed throughout the localities and many specialized stores and convenience stores operating according to a modern model. In addition, the province has 197 markets, including 3 class I markets, 13 class II markets and 179 class III markets. The average value of goods passing through the markets accounts for about 35 - 40%, contributing to goods consumption, promoting production, and serving people’s lives. Currently in the local area, there are 4 petroleum depots, with a capacity of 30,750m3 and 268 petroleum retail stores...

Mr. Ngo Duy Hien - Deputy Director of Co.opmart Viet Tri Supermarket shared: “We chose this place as a stopping point because the urban transportation system is invested synchronously and conveniently to connect with the provinces and cities such as Hanoi, Vinh Phuc... Commercial infrastructure is also invested to become more and more modern, helping Viet Tri city have many opportunities to develop in the field of commerce and services...”.

Along with that, the province’s e-commerce infrastructure has also developed strongly. The transmission system in the province is 100% fiber optic, postal and telecommunications services are developing rapidly and outdated technologies have gradually been replaced by advanced technologies. 100% of supermarkets and shopping centers have non-cash payment devices.

In order for commercial and service activities to develop in a healthy competitive environment, in recent times, the authorities have strengthened the management of business order, prices, and quality of goods; Regularly inspect, control, stabilize the market, promptly prevent violations of food hygiene and safety, trade in banned goods, smuggled goods, trade fraud, and protect consumer rights. Developed commercial infrastructure has been making an important contribution to changing the appearance of urban areas, meeting people’s consumption needs with a variety of goods, and promoting growth of the commercial industry. In the first 6 months of 2024, total retail sales of goods reached 22,895 billion VND, an increase of 15.7% over the same period last year.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Dung - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, said: In the coming time, the Department will develop and implement many policies to support commercial enterprises in business activities. Prioritize the development of service industries: Logistics services, inland waterway transport services, business support services... Gradually form a modern supply and distribution chain. Make e-commerce gradually become one of the important distribution channels.
