Continuing to grant and manage growing area codes for key agricultural products, from the beginning of the year until now, Phu Tho Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has issued 16 growing area codes for rice, bananas, tea, grapefruit, vegetables and dragon fruits with a total area of nearly 567 hectares, bringing a total of 267 growing area codes with nearly 5,100 hectares in the entire province.
25ha of tea of the Clean Tea Production Association of Van Linh commune, Thanh Ba district is granted a growing area code, and brings dozens of tons of dry tea to the market each year, ensuring safety for consumers.
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has issued a code for a banana packaging facility exporting to the Chinese market; 18 codes for grapefruits exported to Russia and the United States; 9 codes for bananas exported to EU and China; Over 200 domestically consumer product codes for grapefruit, tea, bananas, rice, vegetables and 2.44 million product labeled stamps for bananas and grapefruits.
Mr. Tran Tu Anh - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said: “From now until the end of the year, the Department will focus on issuing 200 new growing area codes for tea, grapefruits, bananas, and vegetables with a total area of over 3,500 hectares. At the same time, perform well the management, inspection and supervision of growing areas that have been granted codes according to the regulations; Promote propaganda and training to raise awareness of producers and managers on product traceability, brand building, branding...”
