From February 28 to March 1 (the 1st and 2nd days of the 2nd lunar month, Year of the Snake), Ngoc Quan Commune, Doan Hung District, hosted the Ngoc Tan Communal House Festival—a traditional cultural celebration linked to the early days of village establishment by the Cao Lan ethnic group.
The festival follows traditional Cao Lan rituals, with a highlight being the black pig sacrifice ceremony held precisely at midnight on the 2nd day of the lunar month. The festival also features a variety of vibrant cultural and sporting activities, including Sinh Ca singing, Veo Ca singing, Chim Gau Xuc Tep dance, spinning swings, tug-of-war, crossbow shooting, and cockfighting. These activities vividly showcase the Cao Lan people’s love for life, labor, and their unique cultural heritage.
