Phu Tho: Promoting Cultural Diplomacy for the 2026-2030 Period

On the afternoon of March 5, Mr. Quach Tat Liem — Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee — chaired a conference to review and provide feedback on a proposal by the Department of Foreign Affairs regarding the organization of “Phu Tho Culture Day” abroad and “Foreign Culture Day” in Phu Tho.

Implementing the foreign affairs orientation for the 2026-2030 period, the Department of Foreign Affairs has taken the lead in coordinating with relevant agencies to draft a proposal aimed at institutionalizing the Government’s cultural diplomacy strategy. The core objective of the project is to promote the image of the Ancestral Land, particularly its world heritages such as the Hung Kings Worshiping Belief and Xoan Singing, while expanding international cooperation in tourism, trade, investment, and education.

According to the draft, Phu Tho Province plans to periodically organize cultural exchange events, exhibitions of OCOP products, business networking sessions, and cooperation promotion in strategic partner countries. During the conference, delegates focused on discussing the scale of organization, coordination mechanisms between departments, and resource mobilization plans to ensure practicality and efficiency.

Vice Chairman Quach Tat Liem highly appreciated the Department of Foreign Affairs' proactivity in advising on the project’s development. Emphasizing the vital role of cultural diplomacy in socio-economic development, he requested the Department to incorporate feedback, carefully review the legal basis, and adjust the project’s title appropriately.

The Vice Chairman noted that the proposal should be presented concisely and clearly, clarifying the implementation roadmap. He stressed that the plan must be meticulously calculated based on local realities to ensure that, once issued, it effectively enhances Phu Tho’s position in the international arena.
