Welcoming the delegation to visit and work in Phu Tho province, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council Duong Hoang Huong affirmed: Over the past 70 years of establishing diplomatic relations, Vietnam and North Korea have achieved many achievements in the fields of cooperation and signed many important agreements on trade, culture, health, science and technology, etc..
Introducing some information about Phu Tho province, Mr. Duong Hoang Huong said: Phu Tho is located in the center of Northern Vietnam, with a natural area of over 3,500 km2 and a population of 1.6 million people, a workforce of 860,000 people (over 70% of whom have been trained). As the homeland, the birthplace of the Vietnamese people with two intangible cultural heritages recognized by UNESCO, Phu Tho province has favorable conditions for tourism development.
In 2022 and 2023, Phu Tho will be one of the 10 provinces with the highest export turnover in the country. The scale of the economy reached over 100 trillion VND (about over 4 billion USD), ranking 3rd out of 14 provinces in the midland and mountainous region of the North. In particular, Phu Tho has great potential for agricultural development, focusing on industrial crops, forest timber, tea planting, and processing.
Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council Duong Hoang Huong hopes that in the coming time, the two sides will increase cultural, educational, artistic, and sports exchanges, thereby helping to increase mutual understanding. At the same time, North Korea will support Phu Tho province to export some of the province’s strengths (processed products from tea, wood, paint, agricultural products, food, fertilizers, etc.) to North Korea.
