Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh offers incense to commemorate the Hung Kings

The Party Committee, government and people of Phu Tho province, on behalf of compatriots, soldiers from all over the country, and overseas Vietnamese, solemnly held an incense offering ceremony to commemorate the Hung Kings on the morning of April 18 (lunar March 10) in 2024 at the Hung King Temple historical relic site.

The ceremony saw the attendance of Politburo members: Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Tran Thanh Man, Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; General To Lam, Minister of Public Security; General Luong Cuong, Director of the General Department of Political Affairs of the Vietnam People’s Army; Nguyen Van Binh, a former Politburo member and former Head of the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission; members of the Party Central Committee: Do Van Chien, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee; Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chairwoman of its Commission for Mass Mobilisation; Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism...

On the side of Phu Tho province, Mr. Bui Minh Chau, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Mr. Bui Van Quang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, the officiating priest of the 2024 Hung Kings' Death Anniversary; Phung Khanh Tai - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Standing People’s Council, leaders of the People’s Committee, Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Provincial National Assembly Delegation; leaders of departments, branches, unions and districts, cities and towns as well as many compatriots.

At 6:30 am, in the solemn atmosphere, the incense offering delegation, the groups of flag, music band, palanquin procession departed from the festival center yard passing through Nghi Mon gate, Ha Temple, Trung Temple to Thuong Temple. The army ceremonial team, who are soldiers of the Vietnam People“s Army, carried the national flag and festival flags and wreath with a banner”Eternal gratitude to the Hung Kings who built the country“led the delegation. Following was young girls in red ao dai carring incense, flowers, offerings and a group of 100 people representing the Lac Hong children of Great Mother Au Co and Great Father Lac Long Quan in traditional dress, raising festival flags, showing the Fairy Dragon”s strong life and a palanquin procession carrying offerings, flowers, Chung cakes and Giay cakes which associated with the legend of Prince Lang Lieu and conception of heaven round - square land of our ancestor. The delegation was followed by leaders from the Party, State, central agencies, and localities; leaders of Phu Tho province, provincial departments, branches, unions, districts, cities, towns and people.

Bui Van Quang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Phu Tho Provincial People’s Committee, respectfully delivered a festive speech to commemorate the Hung Kings.

In front of Hung Kings' soul, on behalf of the country’s compatriots, Mr. Bui Van Quang - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Phu Tho Provincial People’s Committee respectfully delivered a festive speech to commemorate the Hung Kings, expressing the heartfelt gratitude to the Hung Kings and forefathers who have built and protected the country; at the same time, briefing the great achievements of the entire Party, people and army in the process of country“s reform, integration and development; commemorating the forefathers, the Hung Kings who opened the national origin, formed the State of Van Lang, and set the groundwork for the nation’s long-term growth. Throughout the historical process of building and defending the country, successive generations of Lac Hong’s descendants have gone through many struggles with countless hardships and challenges; forging a tradition of solidarity and resilience with passionate patriotism; the will to be autonomous, self-reliant, and deeply proud of the nation; establishing glorious miracles, building independence, preserving the mountains, asserting sovereignty, and protecting national identity.

In front of the ancestors“soul, the Party Committee, authorities and people of Phu Tho province pledged to carry on the Fairy Dragon tradition, upholding the spirit of patriotism and revolution; independent will, self-reliance, self-reliance; promoting the strength of great national unity combined with the strength of the times; working together, unanimously, determinedly, and making even greater efforts; striving hard for the cause of building and defending our ancestors” country; Seize possibilities and advantages, and firmly conquer problems to establish an increasingly powerful, prosperous, civilized, and joyful country. Lac Hong”s descendants, overseas Vietnamese are always healthy, tranquil and enjoying peace.

Then, the leaders of the Party and State and the delegates laid wreaths and offered incense at Hung King’s tomb; offered wreaths at the bas-relief depicting President Ho Chi Minh talking to soldiers of the Tien Phong (Pioneer) Brigade. At the same time, at the temples of Hung King and notable celebrities and generals of the Hung Kings era around the country, as well as in the province of Phu Tho, solemnly held the incense offering ceremony to commemorate the Hung Kings in accordance with ancient rituals.

Immediately following the incense offering ceremory, domestic compatriots, expatriates overseas, and foreign friends expressed appreciation to the ancestors, offered incense to commemorate the Hung Kings, and joined in traditional cultural events.
