Thuong Coc Actively Prepares for the 2026 Mien Doi Terraced Field Festival

With just over a week remaining, the 2026 Mien Doi Terraced Field Festival will officially take place in Thuong Coc Commune. At this time, local authorities, businesses, and all residents are urgently finalizing last-minute preparations. The atmosphere is vibrant and ready to welcome tourists from across the country to this major festival.

We arrived at Thao Nguyen Hamlet just as the Mien Doi terraced fields entered the ripe, golden-yellow season. Softly undulating rice ribbons wrap around hillsides, cascading like staircases into cloud-filled skies to form a majestic, poetic natural canvas.

Under the autumn sunlight, Ms. Nguyen Thu Huyen and her friends from afar came to experience and capture memories amid the golden season landscape. Excitement beaming, Ms. Huyen shared: “We were astonished by the pristine beauty of the terraced fields here. Ripe rice turns the entire hillside golden under fresh, cool air. Everyone is taking full advantage to capture their best moments as souvenirs and share them with friends.”

This marks the 3rd year the Mien Doi Terraced Field Festival is organized at the commune level, continuing to honor natural beauty, traditional cultural values, and promote local tourism potential.

Preparation work for this year’s festival adheres closely to Plan No. 194/KH-UBND of the Thuong Coc Commune People’s Committee, aiming for a safe, impressive event rich in ethnic cultural identity. To facilitate delegates, residents, and tourists, the access road to the festival venue was expanded and upgraded to ensure smooth, convenient travel. Traffic direction plans, parking area arrangements, security and order guarantees, fire prevention, and environmental sanitation are being proactively executed by functional units in a synchronized, on-schedule manner to create optimal conditions for a safe and successful event.

Ms. Nguyen Thu Huong, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Tre Nguon Enterprise, informed: “To ensure the best preparation for this year’s Terraced Field Festival, Tre Nguon completed its entire infrastructure system, including a restaurant capacity for 200 guests, a swimming pool, 9 communal homestays, and single-room lodging with a total overnight capacity of approximately 50 guests/night. We commit to delivering attentive service quality and preserving authentic Muong culinary flavors so tourists enjoy wonderful relaxation.”
