United Efforts to Build a Cultural Life

The Dao people in Quyet Tien area, Dich Qua Commune, Thanh Son District, perform Bell Dance and Turtle Dance, unique cultural features of the Dao ethnic group.

In 2024, the province recorded 375,472 families meeting the “Cultural Family” standard, reaching 90.8%; 1,840 residential areas achieving the “Cultural Residential Area” standard, reaching 79%; 100% of communes, wards, and townships having multi-purpose halls that serve as cultural centers and community learning centers; and 95% of weddings and funerals following civilized practices.

As a district with a large ethnic minority population, Thanh Son District has focused on promoting the “All People Unite to Build a Cultural Life” movement in conjunction with the “All People Unite to Build New Rural Areas and Civilized Cities” campaign. The district is implementing a project to preserve and promote the cultural identity of the Muong ethnic group and other ethnic minorities from 2021 to 2025. In the past year, 40 residential cultural houses were newly built, upgraded, or renovated, with a total budget of nearly VND 20 billion. The district achieved 90.5% cultural families and 88.2% cultural residential areas. Additionally, 185 cultural and artistic clubs have been maintained and improved, while cultural and artistic club festivals have been organized to enhance the spiritual life of the people.

Ho Thi Phu, Head of the Quyet Tien Community Affairs Committee, shared: "Thanks to the effective implementation of the “All People Unite to Build a Cultural Life” movement, the people in our area remain united in fostering a strong cultural environment, adhering to community conventions and regulations, and practicing civilized customs in weddings, funerals, and festivals. Households actively participate in the self-managed environmental protection model, contributing to a bright, green, clean, and beautiful landscape. Many residents also engage in cultural preservation and recreational activities through Dao Ethnic Culture Preservation Clubs, Cultural and Artistic Clubs, Dance Clubs, and Soft Volleyball Clubs, helping to enrich their cultural and spiritual life. In 2024, 97 out of 99 families in our area were recognized as Cultural Families, with three households maintaining this status for three consecutive years."

In Tan Son District, the movement to build a cultural life has also been actively promoted, effectively implementing self-managed residential models in culture, society, security, and order. The district has successfully maintained self-management in practicing civilized lifestyles, promoting education and talent development, preserving and enhancing the cultural identity of residential communities, waste collection, and environmental protection. In 2024, the district recorded 84.4% of families achieving the “Cultural Family” standard. Additionally, 100% of families followed civilized customs in weddings and funerals, and 100% of residential areas developed and effectively implemented community conventions. During the year, 16 new residential cultural houses were built, and 183 cultural and artistic clubs were maintained. These clubs received support for purchasing costumes, props, and musical instruments, as well as sound and lighting equipment to meet the practice and performance needs of communal and residential artistic groups, thereby enhancing the cultural and spiritual life of the local people. Through participation in cultural and artistic clubs, residents actively contribute to the preservation and promotion of their ethnic cultural heritage.

The movement, which has gained widespread public support, has helped create a healthy cultural environment, bringing about positive transformations in social life. It also plays a vital role in preserving and promoting the nation’s fine traditional values, fostering civilized lifestyles, and contributing to the development of new rural areas and modern urban spaces.
