Leaders of provincial departments and sectors present flowers to congratulate Kim Boi Commune.
Following the history, the Muong Dong Festival has become deeply ingrained in the consciousness of the Muong community. The festival converges numerous historical and cultural heritages, attracting a large number of locals and tourists from all over.
The 2026 Muong Dong Festival took place from February 22 to 24. This cultural event carries special significance, marking a transitional phase for the locality following the implementation of the two-level local government model and the operation of the new administrative unit after merging.
This year’s festival was organized with solemnity, deeply imbued with the Muong ethnic cultural identity. It aims to commemorate and express gratitude for the merits of the Ancestral Kings and the Village Tutelary God—Dinh Cong Chinh.

The leadership of the Culture and Social Affairs Board (Provincial People’s Council) presents the Provincial-level Historical and Cultural Relic Certificate for Khu Dong Shrine to Kim Boi Commune.
During the ceremony, Kim Boi Commune formally received the Provincial-level Historical and Cultural Relic Certificate for Khu Dong Shrine. This ancient shrine, located on Khu Mountain since the early 19th century (now in Chieng Hamlet), is dedicated to the three princes of the 18th Hung King. These ancestors are credited with defending the nation against invaders and teaching the villagers how to dig canals and cultivate fields, pioneering the wet-rice civilization in the region.

A special artistic program themed "Muong Dong Kim Boi: A New Spring Radiance."
The highlight of the opening ceremony was an artistic program titled "Muong Dong Kim Boi: A New Spring Radiance." The performances not only honored heritage values but also affirmed the solidarity and determination of the Party Committee, authorities, and people of Kim Boi Commune in promoting internal strength to foster local socio-economic development.
Prior to the opening, several rituals were conducted, including offerings to the Land Spirits and the Village Tutelary God, a flag-raising ceremony at Chieng Dong Communal House and Dong Pagoda, and a palanquin procession from the Communal House to the Pagoda.
Within the framework of the festival, various activities took place, including men’s and women’s volleyball competitions, traditional folk sports (tug-of-war, stick pushing, shuttlecock throwing, stilt walking), and an elegant youth contest.
