Boasting rich, identity-steeped natural resources alongside an expanded development space, Phu Tho is step-by-step asserting its standing on Vietnam’s tourism map. Coupled with product development and service quality enhancements, Phu Tho identifies accelerating promotion and elevating brand prestige as vital solutions to bring the image of its land and people closer to domestic and international travelers.

Phu Tho introduces and promotes tourist products and destinations at the Southern Folk Cake Festival in An Giang, contributing to enhanced promotion and market expansion.
Tourism promotion plays a key role in building destination brand identity, providing information, stimulating travel demand, widening visitor markets, and enabling businesses to connect, distribute products, and boost business efficiency. For Phu Tho, promotional activities are increasingly executed with versatility and flexibility—linking promotion with product development, market connectivity, and brand building.
The Phu Tho Tourism Development Scheme for 2026–2030 approved by the Provincial People’s Committee sets a target to welcome at least 20 million visitors by 2030, including approximately 7.8 million overnight stays and total revenue reaching 26,500 billion VND. These goals demand strong, continuous innovation in promotional efforts to raise destination appeal and competitiveness.
A clear shift in recent times involves the province accelerating promotion across digital platforms. The Phu Tho Tourism electronic information system is being built intuitively with integrated photo libraries, videos, 3D books, 360-degree experiences, VR-enabled films, and digital maps. Tech applications enable tourists to easily access information on destinations, products, and services to independently customize itineraries. Concurrently, the province actively participates in major domestic tourism fairs, exhibitions, and events.
Notably, organizing Famtrip and Presstrip activities is receiving greater priority. Through survey trips, travel agencies, media outlets, press agencies, and content creators directly experience the natural beauty, historical depth, culture, and hospitality of the Ancestral Land—while exploring destination connectivity to construct and launch new tours. These real-world experiences spread across press, television, and social media platforms, broadening promotional reach.
The province also leverages cultural events and traditional festivals such as the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day – Hung Temple Festival, Ancestral Land Culture-Tourism Week, Tay Thien Festival, Khai Ha Festival, and Gau Tao Festival. These events preserve traditional cultural values while serving as key media highlights to draw visitors.
Furthermore, promotion is tied to building the destination brand “Ancestral Land — The Origin of the Vietnamese Nation,” taking historical and cultural values as a foundation combined with eco-tourism, resorts, and experiential travel.

Members of a Famtrip and Presstrip delegation experience the Great Mandala Stupa in Dai Dinh Commune, contributing to promoting the image of the Ancestral Land’s people and realm.
Hand-in-hand with promotion, the province is diversifying products such as educational school tours, heritage routes, community-based travel, eco-tourism, and retreats. Promotional activities collaborate closely with travel agencies, enabling firms to explore local products, assess market demand, construct tours, and feature Phu Tho itineraries. Inter-provincial enterprise ties are also strengthened to expand market reach and enhance product exploitation efficiency.
Moving beyond local scope, Phu Tho is widening promotion through regional linkages. Partnering with cities and provinces to connect heritage sites, establish travel routes, organize joint Famtrips and Presstrips, and conduct shared promotional drives fosters highly integrated products. Collaborations among Thai Nguyen, Bac Ninh, Phu Tho, Cao Bang, Tuyen Quang, and Lang Son under the banner “Connecting Heritage, Promoting Identity, Developing Sustainably” unlock each locality’s distinct strengths to create richer itineraries.
Promotional efforts have delivered positive shifts for the tourism sector. In the first 7 months of 2026, the province welcomed an estimated 10.5 million visitors, with tourism revenue reaching approximately 2,236 billion VND. These results demonstrate Phu Tho’s rising destination appeal and underscore tourism’s increasingly clear role in local socio-economic growth.
Ms. Pham Thi Thu Hien, a Phu Tho native currently residing in Da Nang, shared: “Previously, when Phu Tho was mentioned, many thought only of Hung Temple and the ancestral land. Today, Phu Tho’s image is far more widely promoted and familiar to people across many localities, including Da Nang. Through media, social networks, and cultural-tourism programs, my friends and colleagues have come to know Phu Tho not just for its history and culture, but also for its natural scenery, eco-resorts, cuisine, and distinctive cultural traits.”
Moving forward, Phu Tho will continue innovating promotional methods, linking promotion with market and product development, elevating digital content quality, strengthening enterprise and community participation, accelerating regional linkages, and applying digital tech in analyzing visitor demand. Through these measures, the image of “Ancestral Land — The Origin of the Vietnamese Nation” will spread widely, driving tourism into a key economic sector that fuels socio-economic development and improves public livelihoods.
