Traditional star lanterns are always a meaningful gift for highland children.

To bring children in the highlands a meaningful Mid-Autumn Festival, the Youth Union of Tan Son District coordinated with Anan Travel Company to organize a Mid-Autumn Festival Program for children - “Lanterns light up dreams” in two communes Kim Thuong and Xuan Dai. 500 lanterns, 200 moon cakes, nearly 900 boxes of TH True milk and hundreds of candy gifts were given to local children.

Children of Lam Thao District dance, sing and play folk games.

To spread the value, meaning, and traditional beauty of the Mid-Autumn Festival and create memorable childhood memories for children, every year the Youth Union organizations in Lam Thao district organize many unique and special programs. This year, the Youth Union of Lam Thao District coordinated with the District People’s Committee and sponsors to organize “Full Moon Festival - Lanterns light up dreams” at the district level in Son Vi commune. Sponsors and accompanying units awarded 104 meaningful gifts to students in difficult circumstances with a total value of VND 37 million. Among them, children with difficult circumstances from other communes were also respectfully invited by the Youth Union to attend the festival and receive gifts. With many exciting activities such as: Folk games, opening lion dance, quizzes with prizes by Ms. Hang and Mr. Cuoi, feasting together, lantern procession... the children really had fun moments and were filled with laughter.

Now, Mid-Autumn Festival is not only a Children’s Festival but also an opportunity to show the community’s charity and pay more attention to children’s spiritual and material well-being. Caring for poor children, disadvantaged children, and children in remote areas in Mid-Autumn Festival is increasingly widespread, from agencies, localities to social charity groups.
