On the afternoon of January 30, a delegation from the Provincial People’s Committee, led by Mr. Tran Duy Dong – Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Phu Tho Provincial People’s Committee – conducted a field inspection of several inter-regional transport projects. These projects aim to create momentum for economic growth in both Phu Tho and Thai Nguyen provinces, while enhancing connectivity with the Hanoi capital. Welcoming and working with the delegation was Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan – Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s Committee.
Leaders of Phu Tho and Thai Nguyen provinces listen to a report from the Thai Nguyen Department of Construction on the progress of projects in both localities.
Chairman Tran Duy Dong and Chairman Vuong Quoc Tuan, along with delegation members, conducted a survey at Nhe Pass (the border point between the two provinces) and the terminal point of Ring Road 5 in Thanh Cong Commune, Thai Nguyen province (the connection point with Phu Tho). They also heard reports on plans for transport and tourism connectivity, specifically focusing on the East and West slopes of the Tam Dao range and Nui Coc Lake.
During the survey, Chairman Tran Duy Dong affirmed that the province has approved the adjusted Phu Tho Provincial Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050. Accordingly, the province will continue to expand development spaces and economic corridors along major expressways and national highways. This includes fostering close links between the central urban area of Viet Tri and its satellite communes and wards from Vinh Phuc, Hoa Bình, and other neighboring localities.
Chairman Tran Duy Dong expressed his desire for the two provinces to further strengthen coordination and accelerate the implementation of arterial roads. He requested the Departments of Construction of both provinces to act as focal points for information and planning reviews to advise on strategic projects that maximize potential in culture and tourism.
Most importantly, he emphasized speeding up the construction of Ring Road 5 connecting Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, and Hanoi. Once completed, this route will not only facilitate travel but also strengthen regional links, expand trade, boost industrial production, attract human resources, and increase the synergy between the two provinces for mutual development.
