Amidst the drifting white clouds of Tam Dao, the Mau (Mother Goddess) Temple and Vang (Golden) Pagoda complex emerges as a tranquil spiritual realm where nature and faith harmonize, creating a special attraction for visitors.

Mau Temple and Vang Pagoda are nestled halfway up Thien Thi Peak, secluded from the Tam Dao tourist area.

Mau Temple exhibits a deeply majestic and ancient architectural character.

The pathway leading up to Mau Temple consists of more than 300 stone steps winding along the mountain slope. Flanking both sides are tall, straight green bamboo groves standing like a guard of honor to welcome pilgrims.

Mau Temple worships Mother Goddess of the Forest , also known as Tam Dao Mother Goddess Temple.

According to folk legend, she is the daughter of the Jade Emperor, entrusted with ruling over the forests, protecting all living creatures, and blessing people with a prosperous life.

It is precisely because of these merits that for generations, Mother Goddess of the Forest has been revered and worshiped with profound gratitude.

Leaving Mau Temple and following the stone path, visitors will arrive at Vang Pagoda—a spiritual destination boasting unique beauty within the relic complex.

To reach the main hall, visitors must navigate nearly 50 meters of steep stone steps. Although the distance is short, it is enough for everyone to feel a sense of stillness as they slowly step toward the Buddha’s realm.

Behind the pagoda gate lies a spacious courtyard, solemnly adorned with white stone Buddha statues exhibiting diverse expressions, creating a rare atmosphere of serenity.

The name Vang (Golden) Pagoda originates from the murals and decorative motifs covered in gold leaf inside the main sanctuary.

Vang Pagoda presents a dignified yet unpretentious appearance, evoking a sense of both warmth and sacredness.

What makes the Mau Temple and Vang Pagoda complex so appealing is not only its spiritual or architectural value, but also the near-absolute harmony between nature and culture.

This place is not merely a scenic spot...

... but also a sanctuary for each person to find inner peace, amidst floating clouds and the breath of thousands-of-years-old forests.
