On October 8, the Provincial People’s Committee organized a press conference to report on the socio-economic situation in Q3 and the first 9 months of 2026, alongside performance results in implementing Government Resolution No. 01/NQ-CP. Comrade Nguyen Khac Hieu — Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee — chaired the press conference. Delivering opening remarks, Vice Chairman Nguyen Khac Hieu emphasized: The press conference aims to provide official information, clarify issues of concern to the press and public opinion, and strengthen coordination between the government and media. He requested agencies and units to answer directly, focus on key points, clarify responsibilities and handling directions; while urging reporters to exchange views frankly, focusing on practical issues.

According to reports, over the first 9 months of 2026, the province’s socio-economic situation continued to show positive improvements. Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) was estimated to increase by 10.01%, ranking 2nd among 9 provinces in the Northern Mid-Mountainous Region. The Industrial Production Index rose by 21.52%. Export turnover reached over 39.3 billion USD, an increase of 48.9%. Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) attraction reached over 2.4 billion USD, exceeding the annual plan and standing at over 2.1 times compared to the same period last year.

Implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo, the province achieved many digital transformation results: 5G coverage reached all industrial parks and central urban areas; the rate of administrative files received and settled online reached 98.23%; while a real-time data-driven socio-economic governance and executive system was put into pilot operation.

Culture, sports, and tourism marked impressive milestones with numerous outstanding activities. Over the first 9 months, the province welcomed approximately 13.4 million tourists; travel service revenue was estimated at 1,022 billion VND, up 35.4%. Education and healthcare sectors continued to receive attention; national defense and security were maintained.

These achievements were tied to the province strictly adhering to Resolution No. 01/NQ-CP, proactively managing growth scenarios, leveraging spatial development advantages post-consolidation; removing difficulties for businesses, promoting key projects, public investment disbursement, and improving the investment and business climate.

At the press conference, in addition to reporting on the province’s socio-economic situation, representatives of departments and sectors exchanged and clarified issues raised by the press regarding socio-economic development, education, environment, mineral extraction, and key project deployment... The central focus noted that administrative unit restructuring will not immediately involve adjustments or expansions, but will await official, detailed guidance from the Central Government. The National Highway 2 Renovation and Expansion Project (Vinh Yen – Viet Tri section) continues to be accelerated, with compensation and site clearance reaching 99.9% completion. Delivering concluding remarks, Vice Chairman Nguyen Khac Hieu emphasized: Q4 holds decisive significance for fulfilling 2026 targets. The province will continue focusing on achieving double-digit growth targets; supporting production and business; accelerating key project schedules, site clearance, and public investment capital disbursement. Concurrently, elevate the operational efficiency of 2-tier local governments, promote science, technology, and digital transformation; care for social welfare, develop culture and tourism, protect the environment, and firmly maintain national defense and security.
