As the summer sun casts its golden glow over the midland hills of the Ancestral Land, the lotus lake at Vuon Vua Resort & Villas in Tu Vu commune enters its peak blooming season. On the lake’s surface, thousands of pink and white lotus flowers bloom in succession, blanketing a vast green expanse and creating a peaceful beauty characteristic of this eco-resort area.

Tourists check in at the lotus lake.
From early morning, small boats gently glide through the lotus swamp, bringing visitors into a space filled with fragrance and colors. The soft rowing of paddles, the chirping of birds, and the laughter of tourists blend together like a gentle melody of a summer morning.
Planned on an area of 84 hectares, including about 60 hectares of water surface dedicated to lotus cultivation, Vuon Vua Resort & Villas is developed towards eco-tourism, taking nature as its highlight. Every year, from late May to the end of July, the lotus lake becomes a scenic highlight, attracting large numbers of tourists for sightseeing, retreats, and experiential activities.
Surrounding the lotus lake are harmoniously arranged resort villas. From balconies or windows, visitors can feast their eyes on the endless lotus swamp. In the morning, the lake’s surface sparkles in the early sunlight; as afternoon falls, the entire lotus lake is quietly dyed with sunset colors, bringing a sense of relaxation to visitors.
In that setting, visitors can row boats amid the lake, stroll on bridges, cycle around the premises, or sit on the villa porches to enjoy tea and admire the lotuses. Each activity takes place in a cool, quiet green space, helping visitors fully feel the summer beauty of the Ancestral Land.
Not only creating a unique landscape, but lotuses are also present in many spaces of the resort. Fresh lotus vases are decorated in the reception hall and front desk area; the restaurant incorporates lotus seeds and lotus roots into the menu, and lotus tea has become a popular drink choice for many guests. Each experience brings a sense of tranquility, helping people temporarily escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

In the early morning, staff at Vuon Vua Resort & Villas harvest lotuses.
Mr. Duong Manh Tuan – Deputy Director of Vuon Vua Resort & Villas shared: 'Right from the resort’s planning stage, we identified the lotus lake as a signature value and a highlight of Vuon Vua. The roughly 60 hectares of lotus-growing water surface not only create an ecological landscape in summer but are also leveraged to develop experiential products, from sightseeing, rowing to admire lotuses, and enjoying lotus tea to lotus-based cuisine. We hope that each blooming season will bring visitors a complete perception of the natural beauty and distinctive cultural features of the Ancestral Land.'
These days, inside the resort, images of families, groups of young friends, and foreign tourists passionately capturing beautiful moments can be seen everywhere. Some choose to wear traditional Ao Dai to take photos in the middle of the lotus swamp, some leisurely cycle around the lake, while others find a quiet corner to read books or enjoy a cup of coffee in a space filled with floral fragrance.
Bringing her family from Hanoi for a vacation, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Ha shared: 'The most impressive thing does not lie in the luxury of the resort, but in the feeling of living slower amidst the peaceful space. From the guest room, one can look out over a vast lotus area, row a boat in the middle of the lake in the morning, sit on the porch enjoying tea in the afternoon, while small children play in the green compound—each family member has their own experiences but shares the same feeling of relaxation and relief.'

Lotuses are processed and decorated in dishes.
The lotus season not only beautifies the landscape of Vuon Vua Resort & Villas but also contributes to shaping a signature eco-tourism product of Phu Tho. In the overall tourism development of the Ancestral Land, alongside cultural and historical values, resort spaces attached to nature are gradually becoming a new choice for tourists, meeting the demand for finding a balance between rest and experience.
Preserving and developing nearly 60 hectares of lotus lakes is significant not only for the scenery but also for contributing to ecosystem conservation, enhancing the value of green spaces, and creating a unique identity for local tourism. From then on, the lotus is not just a species of flower, but has become a signature “green imprint”, contributing to the very unique flavor of Vuon Vua Resort & Villas—a place where each passing summer leaves in the hearts of tourists unforgettable aftertastes of a rich and hospitable Ancestral Land.
