Phu Tho is drawing tourists this year for the April 30 - May 1 holidays with a unique combination of spiritual tourism, mineral spring resorts, and exploration of wild nature. This blend of cultural heritage and ecological beauty is making the midland of the Ancestral Land one of the most attractive destinations in the North.
On the journey of honoring the nation’s roots during this holiday, the Hung King Temple Historical Relic Site remains the top choice for many families and groups of visitors. The site is not only a symbol of spiritual significance but also a cultural and historical landmark for all Vietnamese people.

Ms. Duong Minh Quynh, a tourist from Thai Nguyen, shared, "We’re planning a trip to Phu Tho this April 30 - May 1 holiday. Hung King Temple is my top destination, as it holds the nation’s deep historical and cultural values. Besides visiting the temple, we plan to relax at Wyndham Lynn Times Thanh Thuy Resort, enjoying the hot mineral springs and resort services. I’m hopeful this trip will offer a perfect mix of cultural exploration and relaxation."
In 2024, Phu Tho welcomed around 6.6 million visitors, generating an estimated VND 4,100 billion in tourism revenue. While official figures for this year’s holiday aren’t available yet, based on past trends and tourism activity, the Phu Tho tourism industry expects an increase in visitors compared to last year.

According to data from the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, in 2024, the province hosted about 128,000 visitors during the holiday, with an average room occupancy rate of 59%. The success of the Cultural Tourism Week and Hung Kings' Commemoration Day brought an estimated 5.5 million visitors, and it’s predicted that tourism in Phu Tho will continue to see impressive growth this year.
In recent years, Phu Tho’s tourism has evolved, with more visitors choosing not just to honor the nation’s roots but also to explore the beautiful natural landscapes. Wyndham Lynn Times Thanh Thuy Resort, known for its natural hot spring system and luxury health services, has become a prime destination for those seeking relaxation and rejuvenation.

Phu Tho’s appeal goes beyond spiritual tourism and relaxation. The province’s indigenous attractions are drawing tourists to destinations like Long Coc tea hill and Tan Son tea hill, where the sight of stilt houses atop hills and winding trails through endless tea fields create ideal spots for photography and nature exploration.
Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang, a tourist from Hanoi, said, "My family and I chose Phu Tho for our holiday, and this time we’re revisiting Xuan Son National Park. Although we’ve been here before, the stunning natural landscapes, pristine forests, and awe-inspiring caves have compelled us to return and explore more. We look forward to trekking, immersing ourselves in the forest’s wild beauty, and learning about the Muong people’s culture."

Xuan Son National Park, known for its rich ecosystem, pristine forests, majestic caves, and the unique culture of its ethnic minorities, is seeing an increasing number of trekking and adventure tourists. Community tourism experiences, such as staying in villages like Coi and Du, are gaining popularity, offering visitors a glimpse into indigenous lifestyles.

At Xuan Son National Park, tourists can also participate in beeswax fabric printing—a cultural craft of the Dao Tien people in Coi village, Tan Son district.
Ms. Ha Thi Yen, Chairman of Xuan Son Commune People’s Committee, said, "As the only commune located in the core area of Xuan Son National Park, home to the Dao and Muong ethnic groups, we recognize the area’s vast potential for tourism. Eco-tourism, community tourism, and experiential tourism are increasingly popular. Xuan Son National Park is well-known both domestically and internationally, attracting over 10,000 visitors annually, especially from March to September. We have 11 motels, homestays, and other facilities to accommodate up to 800 visitors."
To prepare for the peak tourism season, local authorities have been improving infrastructure, enhancing tourism services, and ensuring safety, security, and cleanliness in tourist areas.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Hoa, Director of the Phu Tho Tourism Promotion Information Center, emphasized, "Phu Tho tourism has three main pillars: spiritual tourism, hot mineral spring resorts, and community ecotourism. The centerpiece is spiritual tourism, with Hung King Temple at the heart. We also offer resort experiences at Wyndham Lynn Times Thanh Thuy hot mineral spring resort, focusing on the health benefits of mineral water. Lastly, Xuan Son National Park represents the ecotourism and community-based tourism products we are developing."
Visiting Phu Tho is more than just a spiritual journey; it’s a chance to relax and explore nature. With continuous efforts to innovate and diversify tourism products, Phu Tho is set to make a strong leap in tourism during the April 30 - May 1 holiday and beyond.
