2026 Traditional Festival of Quoc Te Temple

According to legend, Quoc Te Temple worships two water deities, Ngoc Do and Phan Nhang — generals who assisted Saint Tan Vien (Tan Vien Son Thanh) in defeating invaders during the Hung Kings' era. Additionally, the temple honors other deities within the Tan Vien belief system, reflecting a rich spiritual life deeply rooted in national identity.

Historical records and surviving royal ordinations, including one from the reign of King Le Hien Tong in 1767, indicate that Quoc Te Temple was established around the mid-18th century. Despite historical upheavals, the temple has undergone several restorations to maintain its grandeur. In 2015, it was officially recognized by the Provincial People’s Committee as a Provincial-level Historical and Cultural Relic, affirming its profound historical and spiritual value.

Today, Quoc Te Temple serves not only as a sacred place of worship but also as a prominent cultural and spiritual destination. It plays a vital role in preserving heritage values within the Tam Giang cultural space while promoting local cultural tourism.

The 2026 festival was solemnly organized with two main parts: the Ceremonial Rites and the Festival Activities. The highlight of the event was the traditional boat racing competition, which created a vibrant atmosphere, fostered community solidarity, and attracted a large number of residents and tourists.
