A Spectacular Steam-Powered Boat Performance at the Whale Festival
In the vibrant atmosphere of the Whale Festival (Lễ Cầu Ngư) on the afternoon of May 7, a motorized inflatable boat performance by the Hoa Binh Lake Underwater Sports Club delivered a spectacular and exhilarating experience for locals and tourists on the Da River. The skillful accelerations, wave-jumping, and professional turns not only showcased the members' mastery of their craft but also reenacted the courageous and self-sacrificing spirit of volunteer waterway rescue forces.
The predecessor of the Club was the PVC Waterway Rescue Team—a typical rapid response force active across Vietnam’s waterways.
Founded in 2020 by Mr. Vu Minh Hung, the members—originally off-road enthusiasts—transitioned their passion to conquering the waters, always ready to support the community during natural disasters, storms, and floods.
Beyond a display of technical prowess, today’s performance spread a humanitarian message of mutual love and responsibility for the safety of people across the country.
