During the first six months of 2026, Phu Tho Province’s tourism sector recorded positive results thanks to a series of effective tourism promotion and stimulus activities. In particular, the promotion of the Land of the Ancestors’ cultural and tourism heritage through eight events held both domestically and internationally contributed to enhancing the international reputation of Vietnamese tourism.

Hung Kings Temple Historical Site in Hy Cuong Commune attracts a large number of visitors during the 2026 Hung Kings Commemoration Day Festival.
In addition, the province successfully organized several signature events, including “Colors of the Ancestral Land Tourism,” the launch of the “Phu Tho Tourism Stimulus Program 2026,” a tourism and culinary exhibition, and the tourism promotion campaign “Tam Dao – Rendezvous Above the Clouds.”
Efforts to improve service quality were also strengthened through professional tourism training courses held in Mai Chau and knowledge-updating programs for tour guides in Viet Tri.
To diversify tourism products, Phu Tho welcomed a Famtrip–Presstrip delegation under the theme “Phu Tho Tourism: Connecting Heritage Regions – Experiencing Diverse Colors,” bringing together more than 40 travel agencies and media organizations to survey local tourism destinations. The province also participated in a conference on tourism cooperation among the Expanded Northwest Provinces in Moc Chau and carried out surveys to prepare documentation for the recognition of Van Son Commune as a provincial-level tourism area by 2030.

Tourism authorities are providing guidance and support to gradually fulfill the criteria required for the recognition of Van Son Commune as a provincial-level tourism area by 2030.
Thanks to these coordinated efforts, Phu Tho is estimated to have welcomed more than 10.5 million visitors during the first six months of 2026. Of these, more than 3.2 million were overnight visitors, generating approximately 3.859 million visitor-days. International arrivals reached 74,000 visitors, accounting for 148,000 visitor-days.
Total tourism revenue across the province is estimated at VND 10.755 trillion.
