Located at an altitude of over 1,000 meters above sea level with a year-round temperate climate and an average temperature of around 18°C, Tam Dao National Tourist Area is often dubbed the “Da Lat of the North.” Boasting majestic mountain landscapes, the diverse ecosystem of Tam Dao National Park, and unique cultural values, the destination is increasingly solidifying its appeal to domestic and international tourists.
Tam Dao has been voted “World’s Leading Town Destination” by the World Travel Awards for four consecutive years. In the first six months of 2026 alone, Tam Dao Tourist Area attracted over 282,000 visitors.
According to the plan, during the Peak Campaign to Refine and Elevate the Quality of Tam Dao National Tourist Area, agencies, socio-economic organizations, businesses, and local residents will focus on general environmental sanitation; collecting and sorting waste; cleaning thoroughfares, residential areas, and tourist spots; beautifying landscapes by planting, tending, and pruning trees; renovating accommodation establishments; ensuring urban order and traffic safety; and upgrading technical infrastructure while protecting the tourist area’s ecological environment.

To retain visitors, elevate service quality, and live up to its status as a world-leading destination brand, the Provincial Party Secretary requested all levels and sectors to continue promoting their enabling role by building an open and attractive tourism business environment; concentrating investment on completing tourism infrastructure and landscapes to guarantee full power and clean water supply; and establishing a roadmap for waste collection and treatment to create a green, clean, and beautiful landscape—specifically saying no to plastic waste.
In parallel, effective implementation of programs supporting green tourism and green transport transitions for tourists will continue, alongside enhanced communication to encourage residents and business households to transform their tourism mindsets and conduct.
Provincial Party Secretary Pham Dai Duong stressed that building the Tam Dao tourism brand is a collective responsibility of local party committees, authorities, enterprises, business households, and every resident. Each tourism enterprise, business household, and citizen must join hands to build a civilized, friendly tourism environment, raise service quality, and voluntarily preserve the destination’s landscape and environment.
He expressed hope that environmental sanitation, landscape refinement, and service quality enhancement would become continuous, regular activities beyond the peak campaign, contributing to ensuring Tam Dao remains worthy of its status as Vietnam’s 7th National Tourist Area and a world-leading destination.
