Cao Phong Orange Festival will be held in conjunction with the 2025 Exhibition Fair showcasing signature products from ethnic minority and mountainous regions. This event presents a major opportunity for Cao Phong authorities and residents to demonstrate their capability and readiness in organizing a successful festival—one that not only promotes the Geographical Indication “Cao Phong Orange,” recognized by the Intellectual Property Office of Vietnam, but also highlights the image of a dynamic, culturally rich, and hospitable Cao Phong.

This year’s event is integrated with the regional exhibition fair, aiming to create a large-scale economic and cultural exchange space. It provides a platform for trade promotion, partner networking, experience sharing, technology transfer, and, importantly, stimulating consumer demand while affirming the value and market position of Cao Phong oranges. The highlight of the 2025 Orange Festival and Exhibition is its theme: “Green, Sustainable Agriculture and Digital Technology Application.” The theme aligns with global trends and accurately reflects the current reality and aspirations of the Cao Phong orange-growing region.
Cao Phong Commune is currently finalizing festival and fair plans. According to the schedule, the festival will take place over seven days (December 12–18, 2025) at the Cao Phong Commune Square and Cultural House, featuring approximately 120 booths. The “Heart Zone,” comprising 20 booths dedicated entirely to Cao Phong oranges, will allow visitors to sample fresh oranges, orange juice, and various processed orange products. This area will showcase displays from five village clusters (representing the pre-merger communes), cooperatives, and businesses, presenting everything from seedlings and high-tech agricultural materials to OCOP and VietGAP-certified products. Booths will be evaluated by the organizing committee.

The “Ecosystem Zone” includes 100 booths offering general commercial goods, food, and handicrafts, painting a vibrant cultural mosaic. Traditional craft villages, tourism companies, and regional specialties such as Lao Cai thang co, Hoa Binh grilled fish, rau do, and roast pork will gather here, turning Cao Phong into a hub of cultural and culinary exchange.
A diverse program has been designed, blending trade, culture, sports, and experiential tourism. The Orange Festival segment (held during the first three days, December 12–14) will recreate the cultural space of the Muong people with lively chieng performances featuring 300 gong artisans and various folk games. A “Street Festival” featuring dancers from Sun Group promises a festive and modern atmosphere. The “Cao Phong Trail” run (conquering Mount Mung) will not only encourage sports participation but also promote the majestic natural landscape of Cao Phong.
In addition, volleyball and tug-of-war competitions among village clusters will energize the community spirit. The organizers are preparing experiential tourism sites, including “pick-your-own oranges” tours at model cooperatives such as 3T Farm, Ha An Farm Kindergarten, and Vita Garden. Visitors may also explore cultural and spiritual landmarks such as Bong Lai Temple and the Vietnam Scientists Heritage Park.
In recent years, Cao Phong’s orange output has reached around 20,000 tons annually. Farmers have increasingly adopted safe production practices to maintain the brand’s reputation. Households strictly follow VietGAP standards, prioritizing integrated pest management (IPM) and using biological plant protection products. As a result, orange quality continues to improve, with stable and high market prices (Duong Canh oranges: 60,000–70,000 VND/kg; yellow-flesh oranges: 25,000–30,000 VND/kg). Consumers are also protected through electronic traceability labels, ensuring the authenticity of products carrying the geographical indication.
