On January 13, a delegation from the Central Policy and Strategy Committee and the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee for the project “Strategic Solutions to Promote “Double-Digit” Economic Growth in the New Era – the Era of Vietnam’s National Rise,” conducted a survey at Honda Vietnam and CNCTech Group. The delegation was led by Mr. Nguyen Duc Hien, Deputy Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee. The mission is part of the review of Resolution No. 05-NQ/TW (12th Party Central Committee) dated November 1, 2016.
Honda Vietnam representatives introduce the company’s formation and development history.
Honda Vietnam has been present in the former Vinh Phuc province since 1996. After 30 years, the company has 3 production plants with a capacity of over 2.7 million vehicles per year. Notable achievements include the inauguration of the second plant in 2008 and the launch of the first scooter model; the production of the 10 millionth vehicle in September 2011; the inauguration of the third production plant in the former Ha Nam province in November 2014; the production of the 20 millionth vehicle in September 2016; the launch of the first electric motorcycle model in March 2025; and the production of the 40 millionth motorcycle in June 2025, with a localization rate of 97% for motorcycles and approximately 26% for automobiles.
Currently, the company holds about 83% of the motorbike market share and 9% of the automobile market share in Vietnam. In 2025, Honda Vietnam contributed over 11,880 billion VND to the state budget in Phu Tho province. Notably, in early 2026, the company began assembling the Honda CR-V e:HEV, marking a strategic shift toward electrification to meet Net Zero goals and transform Vietnam into a hybrid production hub.
Leaders of CNCTech Group introduce the model of the Nam Binh Xuyen Industrial Park Project.
Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien, Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of CNCTech, reported that the group is a leader in industrial infrastructure and logistics, operating on four pillars: Manufacturing technology, industrial infrastructure services, logistics services, and industrial investment.
With the vision “Creating a Green, Smart, and Sustainable Industrial Ecosystem,” CNCTech has consistently ranked among the Top 500 largest private enterprises and the Top 10 Strong Brands for Green Growth in Vietnam. In 2025, the group reached a revenue of over 2,200 billion VND (up 35% year-on-year) and contributed over 116 billion VND to the state budget.
During the working session, leaders of Honda Vietnam proposed that the Government establish synchronous orientations and policies regarding the green transition in the transport sector. These include support for the production and use of eco-friendly vehicles, land allocation for the construction of public charging stations, and a clear roadmap for the transition from internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles to electric vehicles (EVs).
Leaders of CNCTech Group requested the Government to continue its support by implementing specific, synchronous, and long-term policies to develop the domestic supporting industry, treating it as a strategic development pillar alongside high-tech sectors. They also proposed incentive policies to attract and develop human resources for the mechanical engineering and supporting industries.
Furthermore, they recommended the establishment of a national set of standards for green, smart, and sustainable industrial parks. This should include preferential mechanisms to encourage investors to develop industrial zones and incorporate Phu Tho province into the national planning as a multimodal logistics and transshipment hub for Northern Vietnam.
Commending the operational results and contributions of Honda Vietnam and CNCTech Group to the economic development of Phu Tho province in particular and Vietnam in general, the survey delegation members suggested that Honda Vietnam conduct research and develop specific planning for the construction of charging stations. They also advised the company to focus on emission management and the future of internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle production; establish standards for both domestic and export vehicle production; and identify trends in automation technology and green transformation within production processes. Furthermore, they emphasized the need for strengthening links and raw material supply chains with supporting industry enterprises, as well as developing systems for shared charging infrastructure standards.
Regarding CNCTech Group, the delegation noted the need for mechanisms to attract and train a high-quality workforce. They suggested specific solutions to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and enterprises operating in digital technology and green industries, while orienting the group’s efforts toward attracting highly automated industrial sectors.
Speaking at the survey, Mr. Nguyen Duc Hien, Deputy Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee, affirmed that Honda Vietnam and CNCTech are two of Vietnam’s model enterprises. He acknowledged the recommendations and proposals from both companies, particularly Honda Vietnam’s strategic shift toward hybrid vehicle production and CNCTech’s direction in developing model green industrial parks, attracting investment, and developing high-quality human resources. These efforts contribute significantly to the Vietnamese Government’s realization of its Net Zero goals.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Hien requested that both companies continue to maintain long-term orientations aligned with Vietnam’s green transition requirements. He also urged them to continue their excellent work in social welfare, focusing more on improving the material and spiritual lives of their workers, and to maintain a broader vision for breakthrough development, contributing ever more to the growth of Phu Tho province and the nation.
