On the afternoon of January 8, Mr. Tran Duy Dong – Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, received and worked with a delegation from Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV). The meeting focused on the progress of the company’s expansion project and discussions to resolve existing difficulties and obstacles.

At the meeting, Mr. Tien Quoc Hao – Chairman of Toyota Vietnam, expressed his gratitude for the support of Phu Tho province and the Chairman personally toward TMV. He noted that over 30 years of operation, TMV has maintained its position as a leader in Vietnam’s automotive industry, contributing significantly to the State budget, providing stable jobs for thousands of workers, and promoting the development of supporting industries.
Toyota is also a pioneer in the green transition, applying hybrid technology and producing electrified vehicles to reduce emissions and save fuel, aiming for carbon neutrality in line with the Vietnamese Government’s commitments. Currently, TMV collaborates with 61 domestic suppliers, including 13 Vietnamese-owned suppliers, with over 1,000 localized products.
Regarding the expansion project in Phuc Yen Ward, Phu Tho province, the goal is to boost the production of electrified vehicles (including hybrids), enhance factory efficiency, and “green” its operations. The project aims to provide small and medium-sized “green” vehicles (gasoline-electric hybrids), broaden the product range, and increase TMV’s localization rate in Vietnam. However, the project still faces certain obstacles. TMV hopes the province will support legal procedures and infrastructure to expedite implementation.
Chairman Tran Duy Dong expressed his agreement with Toyota’s proposals, especially regarding the assembly of new models and hybrid vehicles. He emphasized: "Toyota Vietnam was one of the first Japanese enterprises to invest in a factory in the former Vinh Phuc province, now Phu Tho province. We highly appreciate the company’s contributions in creating jobs and local budget revenue."
Based on Toyota’s requests, the Chairman assigned relevant departments and sectors to coordinate and create favorable conditions for the investor to complete permits and procedures, ensuring the project stays on schedule.
