With majestic landscapes and fresh mountain air, Toan Thang Commune is emerging as an attractive destination, offering tourists relaxing experiences deeply connected with nature.
Pristine natural landscapes create a strong tourism appeal for Toan Thang Commune.
Merged from three remote areas (Gia Mo, Lo Son, and Nhan My), Toan Thang Commune possesses immense tourism potential, boasting a system of lakes, dams, streams, and natural waterfalls combined with dense forest cover.
Mr. Bui Duc Hien, Vice Chairman of the Commune People’s Committee, stated: "The locality is transforming this vast potential into an advantage for sustainable rural, eco-friendly, and community-based tourism. We are focusing on developing unique, high-quality tourism products to attract visitors, especially those from major urban centers."

The Flagpole Mountain landmark
On the journey to explore Toan Thang, visitors are captivated by sprawling rice fields and the Flagpole Mountain landmark. A unique gift from nature associated with the legend of Mr. Tung, it is a representative peak in the spiritual life of the Muong people in the Muong Bi region and appears in the famous epic “Birth of the Earth and Water”.
Located in Muong Da hamlet, Ún’s House is a standout model for tourism services. Here, guests can experience a peaceful retreat by the Trang Stream, featuring poetic views of fields and mountains. The resort offers diverse services, including homestays (traditional stilt houses and private rooms), traditional art performances, cycling, campfires, waterfall excursions, bamboo rafting, boating, and ethnic cuisine.

The rice fields take on a magical beauty at night, becoming a popular “check-in” spot for guests at Un’s House.
Ms. Nguyen Thuy Dung, a tourist from Hanoi, shared: "This place offers a different sense of ’slow living' and experiences close to the highland nature. It’s perfect for groups of friends or families for team building, workshops, or simply escaping the city dust to immerse in poetic scenery. I also highly value the service quality; the staff are friendly and hospitable, making us feel right at home."
Another eco-tourism highlight is Moon Waterfall, located deep within the mountains of Trang Ta hamlet. The waterfall stands approximately 20 meters high and is divided into five tiers, each with a unique shape and structure. The undulating terrain at each level allows the water to cascade softly like a white silk ribbon draped amidst the lush green forest.

Tourists enjoy discovering the pristine beauty of Moon Waterfall.
Beyond being an ideal spot to conquer nature, Moon Waterfall is a favorite for recreational activities. Mr. Pham Van Bình, a visitor from Tan Hoa Ward, excitedly said: "For this April 30 - May 1 holiday, my family will return to Moon Waterfall. Besides swimming in the stream to escape the summer heat, this is the perfect place to capture family moments amidst the magnificent beauty of the falls."
According to the local leadership, alongside exploiting natural potential, the commune focuses on preserving the unique culture of the Muong ethnic group, with the Lo Son Stream Fishing Festival being a cultural highlight to attract tourists.
Furthermore, the commune is boosting media outreach and connecting tours and routes. The circuit: “Community experience and retreat at Ún’s House – exploring U Ta Dam – summer escape at Thac Trang” has attracted a large number of young travelers and families.
In the 2025–2030 tourism development roadmap, the locality aims for more methodical planning, improving transport infrastructure, and enhancing service quality. The priority remains the conservation of landscapes and natural ecosystems, integrated with traditional culture and cuisine to improve sustainable income for local residents.
