Infrastructure has always been identified as one of the strategic breakthroughs, playing a pioneering and guiding role while creating the foundation for rapid and sustainable socio-economic development. In implementing Resolution No. 79 on promoting the role of the state economy in the socialist-oriented market economy, Phu Tho Province is concentrating resources on developing a modern, synchronized infrastructure system, considering it a key driver of economic growth and enhanced competitiveness.

The infrastructure of Thang Long Vinh Phuc Industrial Park (Binh Xuyen Commune) has been developed in a synchronized and modern manner, making it an attractive destination for investors.
Located at the center of the Northern Midlands and Mountainous Region and serving as a gateway connecting Hanoi with the northwestern provinces, Phu Tho possesses significant advantages for regional economic development. In recent years, transportation, industrial, urban, and service infrastructure systems have received substantial investment and have been gradually upgraded, creating an important foundation for socio-economic growth.
In the transportation sector, the province prioritizes investment in regional and inter-regional connectivity projects, particularly key transport corridors linking Hanoi, Tuyen Quang, Yen Bai, and the Northwest region. A number of major projects are being implemented or proposed, including: the Ho Chi Minh Road – National Highway 70B – National Highway 32C route to Yen Bai; the parallel road along the Hanoi–Lao Cai railway; the Hoa Binh–Moc Chau Expressway; the Viet Tri–Hoa Binh connection route; the Capital Region transport connectivity project; the Hoa Lac–Hoa Binh route; and the upgrade of National Highway 6 from Xuan Mai to Hoa Binh.
Alongside the upgrading of national and provincial roads and the development of ring roads and industrial park access routes, the province’s transportation network is becoming increasingly synchronized, helping reduce logistics costs, expand development space, and enhance investment attractiveness.
In addition to transportation infrastructure, industrial infrastructure remains one of the key pillars of the province’s development strategy. Industrial parks and industrial clusters are being developed with comprehensive technical infrastructure, ensuring that infrastructure is built ahead of demand to attract large-scale, high-tech manufacturing projects.
By 2030, Phu Tho aims to become one of Vietnam’s major industrial centers in the fields of automobiles and motorcycles, electronics, digital technology, and high technology, with the industrial-construction sector achieving an annual growth rate of 14.5–15.5% and contributing around 50% of the province’s GRDP.
To date, 28 out of 58 industrial parks have received investment approval. Among them, 17 are already operational, while 11 are undergoing site clearance and construction. Industrial parks currently maintain an occupancy rate of over 70% and contribute approximately 90% of the province’s total budget revenue.
The province has also established 66 industrial clusters covering more than 3,000 hectares, including 35 operational clusters that have attracted 930 secondary investment projects. The expansion of industrial parks along the Hanoi–Lao Cai Expressway and Ring Roads No. 4 and No. 5 is gradually forming a modern and integrated industrial infrastructure system.
According to Mr. Hoang Long Bien, Head of the Phu Tho Industrial Parks Authority, synchronized infrastructure development has become a significant driver for investment attraction. In the first five months of 2026 alone, the province granted investment registration certificates to 15 new FDI projects with total registered capital of USD 307.2 million, 3.5 times higher than the same period last year. Manufacturing and processing industries accounted for the majority, with 13 projects and registered capital of USD 121.1 million.
Domestic investment also recorded positive growth, with 36 new projects totaling more than VND 12.4 trillion in registered capital, demonstrating the increasing attractiveness of the province’s investment environment.
Beyond transportation and industrial infrastructure, Phu Tho is also investing heavily in other essential infrastructure sectors. Energy and power infrastructure are being maintained and upgraded to meet rising production and residential demand while encouraging the development of clean and environmentally friendly energy sources. Urban infrastructure continues to improve toward a modern and civilized model, with the urbanization rate reaching 17.7%.
Clean water supply systems, waste treatment facilities, and irrigation infrastructure have been developed in a synchronized manner, contributing to water security and supporting agricultural production. Commercial, service, and tourism infrastructure continues to expand with new markets, shopping centers, supermarkets, and key tourism destinations.
Education, healthcare, cultural, and sports infrastructure is becoming increasingly modern, better meeting public needs and supporting the organization of major events. Notably, digital infrastructure has experienced remarkable progress. Currently, 100% of commune centers are connected by fiber-optic networks; 3G and 4G coverage has reached 99%; and 170 5G base stations have been deployed in urban areas and major tourism destinations.
In the coming years, Phu Tho will continue developing infrastructure in a synchronized, modern, and long-term manner to meet the requirements of rapid and sustainable development. The province will focus on completing multi-sector and multi-purpose infrastructure planning, accelerating digital and green transformation, and improving resilience to climate change and extreme weather events.
At the same time, the province will promote the mobilization of social resources for infrastructure development through public-private partnership (PPP) models and continue improving mechanisms and policies for managing and efficiently utilizing state-invested infrastructure assets, ensuring transparency, accountability, and the prevention of waste and losses.
It can be affirmed that synchronized and modern infrastructure development is the key for Phu Tho’s breakthrough in the new development stage. With strong political determination, coordinated efforts across the political system, and the support of businesses and citizens, the province is steadily realizing its goal of becoming a dynamic growth pole of the Northern Midlands and Mountainous Region, making a significant contribution to the country’s overall development.
