Phu Tho welcomes around 3 million tourists on the occasion of Hung King’s Death Anniversary
Phu Tho province had around 3 million tourists during the ten-day Hung King’s Death Anniversary - Hung King Temple Festival and Ancestor Land Culture - Tourism Week in 2024 (April 9–18).
According to a report from the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, around 3 million people participated in cultural and sporting activities, visited tourism places, and exercised beliefs across the province during the Hung King Death Anniversary.
There were two days when the Hung King Temple Historical Relic Site had a rapid rise in visits: Sunday (April 14), with around 700,000 people, and the major celebration day (April 18), with over 500,000. This year’s Hung King Temple Festival was in the middle of the week, hence the number of tourists is lower than in 2023.
During the festival’s ten days, the Organizing Committee boosted socialization of performance events and folk arts, planned a series of art programs in Viet Tri city, and offered a tour to see Hung King Temple at night to accommodate a high number of visitors.
A variety of festival events in communes and places surrounding Hung King Temple, such as the Hung Lo acient communal house and the Bach Hac - Ben Got tourism area, have also grown in size, attracting a significant number of locals and visitors from all over. This year’s event followed these regulations: The ceremony must be formal and respectable, but the celebration was lively and inclusive... Security force ensured that events were safe, which helped the festival succeed.
