On the morning of 13 July, Phung Thi Kim Nga, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairwoman of the Phu Tho Provincial People’s Committee, chaired a meeting to review the implementation of the National Target Programme (NTP) on Cultural Development for 2025–2035 (Phase I: 2026–2030), preparations for hosting the 2026 VTV International Women’s Volleyball Cup, and the operations of Xuan Thien Phu Tho Football Club.

With the goal of developing Phu Tho into a distinctive cultural and tourism centre of the Northern Midlands and Mountainous Region, the implementation plan for Phase I (2026–2030) of the National Target Programme on Cultural Development has been designed to mobilise the entire political system in preserving and promoting traditional cultural values, building a healthy cultural environment, and creating momentum for sustainable socio-economic development.

After hearing reports and discussions on the proposed allocation of projects for 2026, Vice Chairwoman Phung Thi Kim Nga instructed the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to promptly incorporate feedback and finalise the draft implementation plan. She also requested the department to work closely with relevant agencies to review project contents and funding allocation plans, ensuring there is no overlap with other National Target Programmes.

Regarding capital allocation, she emphasised that priority should be given to localities that fully meet the programme’s criteria. She also requested a thorough review of areas affected by administrative restructuring to ensure investment is focused, efficient and avoids fragmentation and waste. In addition, relevant agencies were instructed to strengthen monitoring of fund disbursement and promptly propose solutions, including the reallocation of capital from delayed projects where necessary.

Mr.Dao Tien Cuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, reports on preparations for the 2026 VTV International Women’s Volleyball Cup.

Regarding the 2026 VTV International Women’s Volleyball Cup, scheduled to take place in Phu Tho Province from 8–15 August 2026, the Vice Chairwoman stressed that the tournament, featuring eight domestic and international teams, is a major international sporting event that will play an important role in promoting the image, culture and people of the Land of the Ancestors.

To ensure the tournament is organised safely and successfully, she instructed the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to continue coordinating closely with co-organisers, including the VTV Sports Centre and the Vietnam Volleyball Federation, to guarantee the quality of facilities and professional organisation. The Provincial Police were assigned to develop comprehensive security plans, strictly prevent ticket scalping, solicitation and price inflation, and ensure the safety of athletes, officials and spectators throughout the event. The Department of Industry and Trade was tasked with organising exhibition booths showcasing OCOP products and local specialties at the competition venue to support trade promotion. Other relevant departments and localities were instructed to strengthen communication through digital platforms and mass media to stimulate tourism while ensuring thorough preparations for welcoming delegates.

Regarding Xuan Thien Phu Tho Football Club, the meeting noted that, with the support of Xuan Thien Group, the club performed impressively during the 2025–2026 National First Division League – Bia Sao Vang Cup, finishing in fifth place. Looking ahead to the 2026–2027 season, the club aims to strengthen its organisational structure, maintain stable performances and compete for promotion to V.League 1.

Commending the club’s achievements, Vice Chairwoman Phung Thi Kim Nga reaffirmed the province’s policy of building a professional football club with a strong local identity and sustainable development.

She agreed with the proposal of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to advise the Provincial People’s Committee on signing a Cooperation Agreement for the 2026–2030 period with Xuan Thien Group. She also assigned relevant departments and agencies to coordinate in addressing the club’s difficulties, particularly by arranging suitable accommodation for players and ensuring adequate funding for maintaining the pitch and supporting facilities at Viet Tri Stadium, thereby providing the best possible conditions for the club’s long-term training and competition.
