“Processing the King to the village to enjoy Spring Festival”
On February 18 (or the 9th day of the first lunar month), at Dinh Ca Communal House, Tien Kien commune, Lam Thao district, the “Processing the King to the village to enjoy Spring Festival” was held.
The communal house is a place to worship the mountain god and the 16th, 17th, 18th Hung Kings - namely Hung Tao King, Hung Nghi King and Hung Due King - who had merit in building the country. The communal house was conferred by the Le - Nguyen dynasties for the village to worship along with worship and sacrifice ceremonies at the communal house. According to the annual tradition, at the beginning of the new year, people arrange a meeting at the village yard to welcome the King come to the village to celebrate Tet.
Here, the celebrant represents the officials and villagers to perform the ceremony, praying for the gods to bless them with prosperity, good weather, and prosperous business. After praying, people wait until the wind picks up and the flag flies, which means the gods have accepted the villagers' request. The villagers then prepare the offerings, the officials perform the ceremony, and then process the palanquin to the communal house. During the festival, there are also many exciting cultural and sports activities, attracting participation of a large number of villagers and tourists from all over the country.
