An overview of the working session.

During the session, the two sides discussed Phu Tho’s policies and development orientations for ecological and organic agriculture and the rural economy in association with agricultural and community-based tourism; resolutions, projects and plans related to tea-growing areas; support mechanisms and policies currently being implemented; the coordinating roles of provincial departments and sectors and local authorities; as well as the role and support activities of Farmers’ Unions at all levels.

In recent years, concretizing the orientations set out in the Resolution of the 1st Phu Tho Provincial Party Congress for the 2025–2030 tenure, along with resolutions of the Provincial Party Committee’s Standing Committee and plans of the Provincial People’s Committee on tourism development and the green economy, the Provincial Farmers’ Union has taken the lead in developing the project “Building a Model of Farmers Developing Local Cultural Experiential Tourism in Association with Ecological Agriculture in Phu Tho Province for 2026–2030.”

The project identifies farmers as the direct actors who organize and benefit from community-based and experiential tourism activities associated with ecological agricultural production. It is expected to establish 30 pilot models in communes with tourism and agricultural potential across the province, with an estimated total funding requirement of approximately VND49 billion.

At the working session, the Provincial Farmers’ Union proposed a number of areas requiring support and priority areas for cooperation in the coming period, focusing on technical consultancy for organic tea cultivation in accordance with international standards, organic conversion and certification processes; water management and ecological farming techniques suited to the conditions of different areas; consultancy on designing agricultural tourism products and planning experiential spaces linked to landscape conservation; human resource training in cooperative management and skills for welcoming and serving tourists; market linkages and trade promotion, particularly for tea products that have obtained VietGAP and OCOP certifications; and the development of a set of indicators for evaluating the models according to established criteria.

Over two days, August 19 and 20, the delegation will conduct field surveys at several cooperatives in Long Coc, Da Bac and Van Son communes.
