With 36 ranked historical and cultural relics—five of which are recognized at the national level—Thanh Thuy District has become an appealing destination for spiritual tourism. The district also boasts a rare natural hot mineral spring, offering ideal conditions for wellness and resort tourism. Its geographical advantages, including proximity to Tan Mountain and the Da River and convenient access from Hanoi, make Thanh Thuy well-positioned to develop community-based and agricultural tourism.

To tap into its potential and promote sustainable tourism development, the Thanh Thuy District Party Committee issued Resolution No. 08-NQ/HU on April 16, 2021, outlining a strategy for tourism development during the 2021–2026 period, with a vision to 2030. The resolution emphasizes the need to capitalize on tourism types such as resort and entertainment tourism, cultural and spiritual tourism, ecotourism, scenic sightseeing, and visits to traditional craft villages.
Since then, the district has actively preserved and promoted the value and unique characteristics of various festivals, traditional rituals, legends from the Hung King era, cultural practices, and local cuisine—integrating these elements with its signature relics and cultural landmarks. Thanh Thuy has developed distinctive cultural tourism products and formed tourism hubs where visitors can explore and engage in immersive experiences.
Spiritual tourism has also been prioritized. Popular sites such as Lang Suong Temple, the Tu Vu Victory Monument, Dao Xa Communal House, and Tam Cong Temple have become key destinations on tourism itineraries, drawing numerous visitors. The district has ramped up promotional campaigns and market development initiatives, helping to build a more vibrant and appealing image for Thanh Thuy tourism.
According to Mr. Vu Duc Kien, Head of the Department of Culture, Science, and Information of Thanh Thuy District, “In recent years, the district has consistently encouraged and supported businesses to invest in premium resort and wellness tourism products that harness the rare hot mineral water resource while also enhancing the ecological landscape. Many enterprises have shown strong interest, investing in high-quality tourism services that contribute to branding Thanh Thuy as a destination.”
Currently, several businesses are successfully operating resort, entertainment, and ecotourism facilities in the district, including Ngoc Xanh Island Tourist Area, Vuon Vua Resort & Villas, Bamboo Resort, Tre Nguon Resort, Thanh Lam Resort, Thanh Thuy Resort, Wyndham Thanh Thuy Resort, and Song Da Ecological Garden House, among others. The district also seeks to attract well-established companies and cooperatives to invest in high-end amusement parks and further develop ecotourism, community tourism, and agricultural tourism—diversifying and enhancing the appeal of its tourism offerings.
There are nearly 50 accommodation establishments in the district, providing close to 3,500 rooms. In the first quarter of 2025, Thanh Thuy welcomed approximately 290,000 visitors, generating tourism and service revenue of around VND 200 billion.
During the recent April 30–May 1 holiday, alongside regular sightseeing and relaxation activities, many local tourist areas organized cultural events that drew large crowds, including food festivals, cultural and artistic performances, giant kite-flying shows, and fireworks displays. In particular, the “Street Music Night” program, held in Thanh Thuy Town, attracted many tourists and added vibrancy to the district’s festive atmosphere.
To ensure safe and quality services during peak seasons, the district directed tourism service providers and accommodations to strictly follow regulations—such as clearly posting prices, selling at listed rates, advertising their proper accommodation classification as recognized by state authorities, strengthening security and fire safety measures, and ensuring overall visitor safety.
During this holiday period alone, Thanh Thuy welcomed more than 76,000 visitors, generating over VND 50 billion in revenue. Among them, over 28,000 were overnight guests, contributing around VND 14 billion.
Ms. Le Thi Ngo, a resident of Dong Da District, Hanoi, shared, “In recent years, my family has made it a monthly routine to visit Thanh Thuy. This place offers a wonderful blend of spiritual and ecological tourism, especially the hot mineral springs, which are great for health. Whenever we need a short break, Thanh Thuy is our top choice—it keeps improving, and the locals are increasingly professional and welcoming.”
Tourism development has significantly contributed to Thanh Thuy’s local economy and to Phu Tho Province overall. It plays a key role in the economic restructuring process by reducing reliance on agriculture, forestry, and fisheries while boosting trade and service sectors.
