On February 17 (the 8th day of the first lunar month, in the year of Dragon 2024), Hung Son town, Lam Thao district held a ceremony to receive the National Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Princess Procession Festival and the certificate of a provincial historical and cultural relic for Dinh Ca Communal House.
The Princess Procession Festival is a folk religious activity of agricultural residents associated with two legendary historical figures during the period of the Hung Kings building the country, namely Tan Vien Mountain God and Princess Ngoc Hoa (daughter of the 18th Hung King). The Princess Procession Festival aims to reenact the story of Tan Vien Mountain God coming to Hung Mountain to process Princess Ngoc Hoa to Tan Vien Mountain. The festival is a type of cultural and religious activity formed and developed during the historical existence and development of villages and communes with spiritual and material products that have been preserved and passed down through generations by the people of Vi-Treo villages in Hung Son town. The festival is also an opportunity to gather the cultural features and quintessence of the hamlet and village and bring joy to the whole community.
The Princess is sitting on the throne and is being carried in procession by the beautiful young men and women of Vi and Tre villages.
For thousands of years, the people of Vi-Treo villages, Hung Son town have organized the Dinh Ca Festival every year to commemorate and show gratitude to the merits of the Hung Kings and generals during the period of the Hung Kings building the country. It thereby demonstrates the cohesion of the residents of Vi - Treo villages, from the same ancient origin.
